So now that we've hit the fucking limit of refusing to challenge patriarchal society's most dearly-held assertion of sex as natural, prediscursive and unassailable, what shall we do next? Keep pissing ourselves lest the notion of transition's material reality leads to too many clutched pearls?

We've seen activists, academics, lawyers, and scholars of feminism and gender and transness and queerness all refuse to acknowledge, for various reasons, that TRANS PEOPLE CHANGE SEX, that we are able to navigate society as the sex we transition to, and are punished for daring to change our sex.

📊 NEW: Among 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Green voters overall and Labour > Green defectors, more people cite support for trans and other minority rights as a major reason than Palestine, housing or the cost of living. Trans rights issues don't decide elections, but they remain a high saliency issue for progressive voters.

I share the worry of trans people at the prospect of PM Wes Streeting. At Health he ignored the voices of young trans people and restricted gender-affirming care, causing harm to a generation. It is up to Labour to choose its leader, but members must also choose a better direction on trans rights

1/ What is jury equity? Jury equity is the principle that juries have the power to acquit a defendant even where they think that the defendant has broken the law, and the defendant has no legal defence to the charge.
What is the story with jury equity?

There's a lot of conservative politics rooted in the fundamental idea that accommodations of difference are "special treatment" at constant risk of being poached by the "undeserving", and that suffering is both an inevitable fact of life and virtuous. It's a contemptible social rot.

That one of the primary battlegrounds of trans exclusion is access to domestic violence services is not a mistake. Trans women aren’t dilettante-ishly demanding access in order to affirm our identity, we are constantly in need of such services because of the pervasive violence many of us face.

The majority of people in this country do not want us to be involved in this war. Keir Starmer of a few years ago wouldn't have supported this war. The only reason he does now is he will do anything Donald Trump wants - and it makes us all less safe.
No more illegal wars. Introduce a prevention of military intervention act and put human rights at the heart of foreign policy. Review all UK arms sales and make us a force for international peace and justice.

Dear Lucy Powell, A response to your letter:
Dear Lucy

Three weeks ago you wrote me a bizarre letter in an attempt to hold on to voters who Labour have for too long taken for granted in Gorton and Denton.

First, I’d like to give my apologies for the delay in getting back to you. I've been busy on the ground with Hannah Spencer talking to voters about the issues that matter to them – lowering bills, protecting the NHS and rebuilding our public services.

You'll appreciate most of your letter is out of date now, but I'm sure you'll have seen the poll that came out today, that puts us in first place and Reform in second. Labour are a distant third and it’s now clearer than ever that your party cannot win in Gorton and Denton.

If you are as concerned about stopping Reform as you proposed in your letter, the course is now clear: in the spirit in which you wrote to me, you should now urge your members and former voters to back Hannah Spencer on the 26th February to stop Reform and make hope normal again.

Kind regards,

Zack Polanski
Leader of the Green Party of England and Wales

P.S – Hannah looks forward to saying hi in Parliament!
