My toxic trait as prop master is thinking I can make everything🫠 I'm so used to working on no budget/low budget that I didn't realize we had 40,000 yen. Gurl I can fucking buy magnetic clasps why am I trying to make them

The town next to me has their summer festival today and in true spirit this year it is pissing down rain. I'm going to my first soccer game in Japan as well (I'll be larping in the supporters section). But. I'm betting they let us all in because of the towel promo and then we get a rainout

Buying goods used to be really easy ten years ago. In fact. There were a lot of times people just didn't queue up for things. The very first line I ever had to do was Mega Tokyo DX grand opening.... Anyway I just really like Vulpix.

Also psychologically, horror movies do trigger that adrenaline, mirror-neuron "oh shit it's happening to me too!" But in a controlled manner that helps temper our nervous system just in case a clown really does chase us. Oh I know what to do because my brain trained for this! RUN

Your annual Asakusa Samba Carnival (with ALT text) appreciation thread 😎

Samba goddess all in yellow, dancing in the rain on a slick road in a pair of high-heeled strappy shoes mere mortals could barely dream to walk in. Wearing so many feathers she may just fly away. All this is reflected in the cellphone of a spectator standing just ahead of me.

Close up of a samba dancer bedazzled in blue. One hand is holding a bottle of water and the other over is her mouth as she blows a kiss to a little girl waving from the side of the road. Stay hydrated little girl and you, too, can grow up to become just as fabulous.

Samba dancer in a purple sparkling bodysuit carrying a purple and green flag for a nation that exists only in her imagination. She wears a hoop skirt so massive that she would surely not be able to move were it not made of purple and green feathers. The woman leans back, as if she doing a trust fall into the arms of the equally purple spangled woman behind her, though judging from the other woman’s expression I would hesitate to be so euphoric.

Samba dancer on the road before a crowd. Her look is perhaps a cross between a green and pink neon cowgirl and a bird or prey. Still she somehow makes it work.

Good morning! ☀️ Our new Acting Deputy Director of Public Affairs & Communications (and Project 2025 🤮 contributor) writes Christian government fan fiction—complete with “clean and wholesome” romance. It’s Wednesday. Give us a snippet of YOUR best government fan fiction. 🍿

Book cover: Above Bold and True. As one could expect from this author, all characters are white. White woman in the front and an older white man with white hair behind her on the left and, let me guess, her hot throb Ivy Leagues boy with a blazer on the right.

Description of the book:
Sometimes faith calls us to be true.

Sometimes it calls us to be bold.

And sometimes, it calls us to be above bold.

Lyla King never expected that staying true to her faith would place her at the center of history. As a gifted White House legislative strategist, she has built her career on wisdom, integrity, and an unwavering devotion to God. In a city where power is bought with compromise, Lyla and three close friends quietly refuse to bend - and their conviction soon draws the attention of the most powerful man in the world: the President of the United States.

What begins as a routine assignment becomes a dangerous mission of international diplomacy, political intrigue, and impossible choices. As tensions rise at home and abroad, Lyla must navigate rival agendas, threats to national security, and a high-stakes congressional delegation to one of the world's most volatile regions - all while questions of trust, purpose, and love test both her courage and her faith.

But the greatest battles are not always fought in the halls of power. As her influence grows and her responsibilities multiply, Lyla discovers that God's plans are often far bigger than the ones we dream for ourselves.

A modern-day retelling of the biblical book of Daniel, Above Bold: True is the first novel in the Above Bold series - a sweeping story of political suspense, heartfelt friendship, inspiring faith, and unforgettable clean romance. It is a powerful reminder of what it means to stand firm when compromise seems easier, to trust God when the future is uncertain, and to discover that staying true is the truest victory of all.

Readers will love:

A clean and wholesome romance with no explicit content
Faith and courage tested under real pressure
Washington, D.C. political intrigue and suspense
A close-knit, found-family friendship
A fresh, modern take on the story of Daniel

Friend and I did the silent hill exhibition in Parco rn. We got all the secret numbers and tried it but couldn't open the door to get the freebies. We asked someone who had what numbers they used because I needed to know what we got wrong. Staff were giving us looks. Gurl we used our tries we know.
