Just started actual training for my March marathon. 6.5 miles, and a hojicha einspanner to celebrate. I always do a before and after photo shoot. My weight isn't an issue, but my SHAPE always changes dramatically while in training, and I like to see the difference. (not bad for 52 with 2 kids!)

I'm extremely susceptible to bribes. Even if I'm bribing myself. Sooooooo...I just ordered a box of these assholes. They'll live with my husband until I 'earn' them (work on a project I'm having trouble starting). Hopefully it won't be a repeat of the gachapon 'oops, all Endeavors' fiasco.

I was finally able to pick up my prize from the West Central Illinois Quilt Shop Hop. Now if I could only get my new sewing machine up and running...

An arranged variety of quilting supplies, including a purple rolling tote, two packages of pastel fabrics, batting, thread, and square templates. Someday the components might come together to make a small quilt or table runner.

We lost Chopper unexpectedly last night. It's the hardest part of fostering. Having to let some go. We're not sure exactly what happened...his diarrhea seemed to be getting better, and he had even put on a tiny bit of weight, but whatever was going on was just too much. Safe travels, Chopper.

Poor little Chopper got to hang with his big sisters after the vet. Verdict: he is very smol, and taking longer to fight off whatever is giving everyone the squirts. And because his poor wee bunghole is exhausted he is dribbling more than squirting.

Chopper, Ace, and Koby. We think they're from the same litter as the others but they are a lot smaller so we can't be certain, even though the same outside mama was nursing all of them! It's possible mama rounded up 3 random kittens after hers were rescued, but I'd like to think that's unlikely!

We went hiking in Griffith Park for the first time in years. I identified: Wild cucumber, laurel sumac, telegraphweed, coast live oak, golden yarrow, toyon, deerweed, distant phacelia, castor bean, southern bush monkeyflower, botta's clarkia, tree tobacco, maltese star thistle, and sacred Datura.

The Snacks are just a few days shy of 8 weeks. They are all eating solid food (one of them reluctantly). In a few hours they will be going to another foster home so we can focus on the Strawcats. I'll miss them. I won't miss 10 kittens using my office as a toilet.

Figured out who was peeing next to my desk. Turns out it was one of the Strawcats! (Luffy). They are still too small to get into the regular litterboxes so I got out an itty bitty box and introduced them. Sanji used it right away!

We lost the runt of the Strawcats last night. He had been struggling to gain weight since we got him, and by the time we realized he wasn't able to swallow properly it was too late. He passed away last night at around 3 AM. Zoro, you mattered.
