If 1000 needles deals 1000 points of damage, that means 1 needle deals exactly 1 point of damage. This means the pain a person feels when touching a cactus needle is the scientific measuring unit of 1 point of dmg, and we can use this to measure other sources of dmg and how much HP people have.
