It comes after years of cover-ups & denials not least from Boris Johnson who was in charge of MI6 as foreign minister at the time & whose first act as PM was to ennoble the Baron of Siberia. But it also went beyond Johnson & Starmer continued it too. We now finally need some sunlight. 2/

One of the ‘anti-Net Zero brigade’’s favorite myths is that the UK is only responsible for 1% of the world’s emissions. What should we bother lowering our emissions when China, the US and India emit so much more?

The thing that never gets enough attention with big bold deregulation programmes is how implausible the counter-factual is. The idea you scrap some annoying regulators, ditch net zero targets, and stop worrying about schools near new housing developments and all will be fine is laughable.

A 'peace' of Ukraine.
A black-and-white political cartoon featuring four minimalist stick figures arranged horizontally against a plain white background, illustrating a critique of foreign perspectives on the Russia-Ukraine war.
From left to right, the scene unfolds as follows:
• The Aggressor (Far Left): A stick figure facing right holds a detailed grey assault rifle directly at the next figure's face. A grenade and a knife hang from its waist. A rectangular Russian flag (horizontal stripes of white, blue, and red) is pasted across its upper chest. A speech bubble above its head reads in bold black text: "I will destroy you and take all your land."
• The Victim (Center-Left): A stick figure stands defenseless, leaning backward with its hands raised in a gesture of retreat or surrender. A rectangular Ukrainian flag (horizontal blue and yellow stripes) is pasted across its chest. It looks at the armed figure with a sad, worried expression.
• The First Detractor (Center-Right): A stick figure faces left, pointing an angry finger at the Ukrainian figure. It wears a bright red baseball cap with the letters "MAGA" in white. Its mouth is wide open in a yell.
• The Second Detractor (Far Right): A stick figure stands closely behind the MAGA figure, also facing left with a stern, angry glare. It is drawn with a red torso and wears a grey, Soviet-style ushanka winter hat featuring a small red star emblem on the front.
A joint speech bubble originates from both the MAGA and Soviet-hatted figures, pointing directly at the Ukrainian figure. It reads in bold black text: "Ukraine, why don't you want peace? Make peace with Russia!"

Data Republican is mad that we unmasked some of the most heinous people in the world.
“The goal of GDL Exposed is to push back against the neo-Nazi organization Goyim Defense League by unmasking their activists who travel around the country harassing people,” a representative of the site told Raw Story. “The GDL is led by Jon Minadeo, whose primary source of income is video chatting with children and rebroadcasting those recordings to thousands of angry neo-Nazis, without the knowledge or consent of the children or their parents.

“These videos have included support for mass shooters such as the Antioch High School shooter in Nashville, who was found to have shared a GDL flyer. Data Republican is right. We do hope to ruin these people’s lives. They are predators who would kill every non-white and Jewish person on earth if they could.”

The next election will now be the Drumcree Election one way or another. But it won't come in a month even if one party leaves the Executive. Other ministers remain in post for 24 weeks under the 2022 Act, so we'd still be looking at a Spring 2027 election. But will that lead to any "cooling off"?
