It was a certainty this was going to happen. I like to think we straddle the line between critic and user. My advise with 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗿: 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 would be to go with the users on this one.

7. Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth Very much Hellraiser's "Nightmare on Elm St. 2", except Pinhead's more like the later Freddy. Same concept, similarly doesn't quite fit the established rules, and like Freddy 2 was a bit gay, this is a bit lesbian. Lots of silliness, but like Freddy, it's just fun.

Paula Marshall in Hellraiser III in 1992 did not grow up to be Shawnee Smith in Saw movies in the 2000's and on.

Shawnee Smith in some saw-related still (I think this might be for Saw X)

Given this was an LN, it was hard not to consider how an anime adaptation could have worked. It would actually be a great format, as the different perspectives would sort of map onto the "harem focusing on a character for an arc" thing they do (regardless of whether the show is properly a harem).

78. The Dark Maidens (film, aka "Girls in the Dark") The film version cut a character and gave her story to another. Surprisingly, I'm fine with that, but there's a bunch of other stuff that would have been better if not glossed over or omitted (particularly Bulgaria). Still works, regardless.

Already explaining how it works, it'd be so easy to keep going and do some bit like, "few people work with it, since the families that weave it seem cursed, get sickly and die just a bit young, no one wants to learn the techniques, but of course, there's usually a reason for these things as well..."

A wall clock in the spirit of the classic moving-eyes-and-tail cat clock, except it's bright orange and it's the creepy cat thing from the horror movie House.

Since this was a statement already made in comparison to silencers being just less loud.

000

Balsa @balsamaster.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

I mean, that's long been my understanding, but his statement that certain very specific low-power setups are "very quiet indeed" was making me wonder if that meant "compared to normal" or actually quiet.

110

Balsa @balsamaster.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

So movie silencers are actually kinda realistic (or at least "not totally fantastical"), just really weak?

Not sure I'll manage to do a full 31, but I've shooting for it. So far: Hellraiser, One Missed Call, Persona (the 2000 Japanese film), Hellraiser II, Eko Eko Azarak III and The Paganini Horror. Hellraisers III/IV, OMC 2/3 and The Prophecy 2/3 are all in the queue. Might do Freeze Me in this too.
