Perhaps furries actually *were* smug and annoying about closed species, sometime in the 2010s 🤔 Nowadays a lot more furries are, instead, smug and annoying about how they don't care about no rules and NOBODY can tell THEM what to do! (The primagen creator gets treated like this quite often...)

A Twitter conversation:

@ad_proto

I want to ask:

What are the purpose of rules you don't enforce? You state: fun prizes, but most of the additional features are behind an "optional" paywall, so how is even a prize? Beyond making money, what do these "restrictions" even do? Limiting creativity for financial gain?

You're effectively using personal preference for financial gain, with the only logical argument being IP, but you know you have no legal right, because "sonas" of ANY species fall under parody law unless direct financial gain is being made from these characters. It's...predatory.

@CoolKoinu

Hey, just making sure you read this part of the post. Not sure why you believe I said I would take legal action, in fact I specifically mention I'm taking no action.

If you don't wish to respect my boundaries on my work thats fine! I get it, you do you! I'm not going after people over this.👍

And please understand that people can make Protogen however they want...

Closed species like primagens are a-okay! "it's lame that there's RULES for what I can and can't do with them" ➡️ most people also have boundaries like that for individual furry blorbos! "they only exist to make the creator $$$" ➡️ but artists making a living from art is surely a Good Thing...

As a "metroidvania" name hater, I would unironically endorse "backie-trackie". Would work for all the games people slap metroidvania onto. Incredible work. Actually I might just start using it, fuck it.

For @/BlepfirePhoenix of their raptor oc exploring a radiant alien jungle! Made this in 2021 but did recent edits to try making it less eyestrain-inducing x'D florateacomms.carrd.co #art #ocsky #animalart #fantasy

Art commission of a feathered raptor in the jungle of an alien planet. They stand on water while looking out into the distance with an astonished smiling expression. They have white feathers with black thighs and tail stripes along with an orange face and tail-tip. Surrounding them is a wide variety of alien plants, many of them are glowing. A planet with rings can be seen in the sky.

It would seem that after... 'advanced' negotiations, Vauquelin's ship was put under tow as the pirates investigate its destination, though it appears that their choice of prisoner guard may not have been suited to contain the raptor... ft. @balefirephoenix.bsky.social & @milodesty.bsky.social
