bagwaa @bagwaa.dev · 22/09/2025How much has your process for “writing code” changed in the last 12 months? 020
bagwaa @bagwaa.dev · 10/08/2025I’ve been seriously thinking about switching phparser.com over to #WASM, purely on the basis that I know NOTHING about it. Spinning up docker containers in job classes and then feeding back to the front end using #Laravel Reverb has been way more performant than expected. #phpphparser.comPhparserA modern PHP playground for testing and running PHP code online. Execute PHP scripts in a secure environment with syntax highlighting and real-time feedback. 120
bagwaa @bagwaa.dev · 08/06/2025I’ll be in London from around 4pm tomorrow for Laravel Live UK if anyone wants to hang out? 110

bagwaa @bagwaa.dev · 23/04/2025I’ve been quiet on here, mostly been tinkering with Arduino and 3D printing to make sim racing gadgets like this. 060
bagwaa @bagwaa.dev · 14/04/2025I did not know you were dealing with lymphoma, this is very sad to hear, sending my absolute best wishes John. 100
bagwaa @bagwaa.dev · 14/04/2025I think my all time favourite of recent is Arr::sole(), probably have to be British to appreciate that though (maybe). 020
bagwaa @bagwaa.dev · 14/04/2025You didn't factor in the fact that you can turn the t-shirt inside out and have a new one for another 10-12 days. 000
bagwaa @bagwaa.dev · 30/03/2025I may have just purchased a 3D printer, I have a business idea but know nothing about 3D printing, let’s go 😀 020
bagwaa @bagwaa.dev · 26/03/2025I'm not sure, but I think I have an early winner for "UUID of the year" ba3c79cc-5d94-4213-aa41-2f614ba90c33 Let me know if you've seen anything better? has to be from 2025 though as we crowned 38db57db-8243-4129-bdec-56017397b62b the winner of 2024 010
bagwaa @bagwaa.dev · 16/03/2025Pretty happy with the first pass of Shale, just need to build on the AWS Bedrock concepts a little more, however adding additional models is really easy now. github.com/shale-php/sh... #Laravel #AI 031
bagwaa @bagwaa.dev · 12/03/2025Started working on a Laravel package last night to interact with AWS Bedrock (AI with loads of models to choose from) in the usual Laravel way. #Laravel 030
bagwaa @bagwaa.dev · 12/03/2025Just to add, when you pick one, let me know, I can point you to a tonne of great learning resources for both. (paid and free) 000
bagwaa @bagwaa.dev · 12/03/2025the best book I have read, and best of all FREE. For pure fun, I loved Rust, but honestly I don't think there is a "Wrong" decision here. doc.rust-lang.org/book/doc.rust-lang.orgThe Rust Programming Language - The Rust Programming Languageby Steve Klabnik, Carol Nichols, and Chris Krycho, with contributions from the Rust Community 100
bagwaa @bagwaa.dev · 12/03/2025That's just the "Go way" of doing things, for me, Go is great for little http handlers and API stuff, but for me personally, not full scale web apps (subjective). Rust on the other hand, seems to have a lot less opportunities but is just a shit tonne of fun to learn, "The rust book" is probably 100
bagwaa @bagwaa.dev · 12/03/2025However, I see people building full web apps in Go which I just wouldn't do myself since Laravel is so easy and clean. In go you'll find yourself writing this sort of thing a LOT. f, err := os.Open("filename.txt") if err != nil { log.Fatal(err) } At first this feels really icky, however 100
bagwaa @bagwaa.dev · 12/03/2025As shit as this sounds, "it depends" If I were wanting to do something useful in my current situation that could complement what I already know then I would say Go. Go has a lot of http integration by default, and is really nice out of the box, plus there are a lot more opportunities for it. 100
bagwaa @bagwaa.dev · 11/03/2025I learnt both, and both are very fun, I preferred rust I think, the borrow checker is a very different concept but quite simple after using it for a while. That being said, I found generics in go a lot of fun too 😂 110
bagwaa @bagwaa.dev · 11/03/2025So far, PostgreSQL is just MySQL with some nice bells and whistles, I like it 020
bagwaa @bagwaa.dev · 05/03/2025Need to upgrade my 2019 16 inch MacBook Pro, should I go to the MacBook Pro with the M4 chip or maybe the MacBook Air? Or something else? Guess all I need to run is docker, PHPstorm etc 200
bagwaa @bagwaa.dev · 05/03/2025I’m a spreader - not gonna lie, I never expected to say that during my lifetime. 120

bagwaa @bagwaa.dev · 16/02/2025If you use a spell checker all the time does it mean you’re no longer learning new spellings since you don’t internalise the correction? 100

bagwaa @bagwaa.dev · 11/02/2025I introduced someone to the service container in Laravel along with service providers today, they were blown away. Reminded me of how I felt when I learnt about those things for the first time. 010
