Here’s another cultivar of the former Rhodohypoxis, Hypoxis ‘Picta’ (📷: Carol CCBYNCSA2). How I wish I could grow these in the rock garden! #Hypoxidaceae #Botany 🌾🧪🌱
Photo of dozens of white, star-shaped flowers with elliptical tepals that are rosy pink toward the bases and the tips. The inner tepals are somewhat s-shaped so that the base of the tepal folds toward the center of the flower, hiding the stamens, before turning outward and presenting a broad elliptical surface.

Hypoxidaceae flowers lack nectaries, so they don’t offer nectar rewards. (But biologists need to check for micro amounts of nectar from diffuse nectaries.) The flowers have plenty of pollen & are visited by bees. 📷: Hypoxis hemerocallidea of southern Africa. #Hypoxidaceae #Botany 🌾🧪🌱

This trailing African Begonia does not have the usual yellow blooms, but when it's trained on a small trellis or wire frame, I think it can be quite pretty. It is incredibly easy to grow, too. B. loranthoides ssp. rhopalocarpa🌱

Candy Cane Chocolate Cherry sweet peppers. Intense variegation, along with chunky flesh, makes these quite slow to ripen, but they're a real joy when they do. Like a stick of rock, the striping goes all the way through, so they look incredible when sliced into rings (will try to get a pic) 🌱🌶️
Five red peppers, flecked with raindrops, sit on a wooden table. They are oval in shape, striped with black, and about 3 inches long. The calyxes are striped green and cream.

They are so pretty, aren't they? Both the pink and orange one are from Brazil. This is how/why I started trying to help you/Palm Oil Detectives back during the pandemic days. Check these out-all from SE Asia. If we keep chopping down rainforests for palm oil/junk food, all of these will go away. 💔
