iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

You didn't HAVE to, I rarely did, most of the time I played. I mostly grinded for materials and stole stuff and sold them, lol

I live in the north & the rent on our 2 bedroom flat went up 20% to £1200/month a few months ago. The cheapest 2 bdr flat I've seen in the area the last few months was £850, but it wasn't really a 2 bdr (not a bedroom if you literally can't get a bed in it) & you could see mold in the listing photos

I think this is going to become an extremely urgent question if rents keep going up 10-25% every year for a good number of people

What happens when that job doesn't pay a living wage?

Actually, I live in a country that's not the US. Wild, I know!

But somehow the UK antivaxxer movement was practically nipped in the bud. Maybe it's just that the news media hadn't completely gone down the shitter yet? Who knows. Wouldn't be surprised if they have another go at it, though. Like after the media really goes after autism (which seems inevitable).

The NHS stopped paying for homeopathic shit less than a decade ago. They'll still pay for you to see a fucking chiropractor. They're effectively not providing trans healthcare anymore in many places. They're instituting a 2 year mandatory wait before you can see a doctor to evaluate you for ADHD.

So I watched hbomberguy's vaccines and autism video recently for the first time, and I keep wondering how Brian Deer was able to save the UK from becoming rabidly antivax years ago. Because it's obvious this country is not more "pro-science" or any smarter than the US or whatever.

Today looking up details to correctly cite a scholar I found she's also made some art. #DHMakes This is Interference Pattern II by Frances Rothwell Hughes. She started each square when she had time to embroider and stopped when interrupted by her newborn www.francesrothwellhughes.com/interference...

Detail of textile artwork, showing 6 by 4 squares. Each square shows the same pattern in different stages of completion, ranging from dashes, to diamonds, to a complex geometric pattern filling the entire square.

Framed textile artwork consisting of 4 rows of 25 squares. Each square contains a different number of embroidered stiches in black thread.

I really hope more people get the chance to see the show, we saw it a couple years ago in London and it's amazing

I think if "prison" or at the very least "never working in that profession again" aren't potential consequences of you catastrophically fucking up, you don't get to call yourself an engineer

Trying on clothes to see what fits is one of the worst things in the world. I have a growing mountain of stuff to get rid of. One crying jag so far. But I've put it off way too long already. Shout-outs to @mayakern.com, though - every one of your skirts still fits. 🫡

It's also not true? People who come over via regular immigration go through security checks, and people who claim asylum are subjected to a really invasive vetting process.

Unhinged behavior. It's weird and bad enough when parents do this shit to their teenagers, but ma'am that's a whole-ass adult you're stalking. Please go to therapy for your anxiety and get a hobby.

The idea that they can be pushed them left after the election is fucking laughable if you've paid attention to British politics over the past few years. The "Liberal Good Guy" Labour Party has decimated trans rights, both by acting and refusing to act. It'll take a generation to fix.
