I used to do it twice a year and enjoyed it. I only had 2 knives I bothered to sharpen. Now I have 7 and it feels overwhelming so I haven't in almost 2 years and chopping anything sucks.

I put a ton of crystal light flavor packets in mine and was able to choke it down with a straw. I too do not understand how they cannot improve this by now, especially as regular miralax dissolves just fine. Jen - wishing you a delicious first meal and an epic nap.

My BIL is the best. He drove out (hour roundtrip) to help move heavy item up from the basement. I didn't want to do it because J and I end up hissing at each other and BIL just shrugs it off instead of escalating. Took him 10 minutes and he cut his finger. I will take childcare duties ANY DAY.

AITA for correcting my girlfriend's family every time they mispronounce my turtle's name?
I have a turtle named Geoff. Yes I know Geoff is normally pronounced Jeff. His isnt. My girlfriend's family knows this and still calls him Jeff basically every time his name comes up.
His name starts with /dz/ instead of the normal American English J sound /d3/. So regular Geoff/Jeff is roughly /dzef/ and his is /dzef/. They are similar but they are NOT the same consonant. /d3/ is a voiced postalveolar affricate and /dz/ is a voiced retroflex affricate. Basically you make the beginning of "Jeff" with the tongue farther back/retracted, which gives it a harder, deeper "dzh" sound.
I'm really into etymology and historical linguistics so the spelling was intentional too. Geoff is already a weird spelling from a modern English perspective because gives you basically no reason to predict /dzef/ unless you already know the name. Obviously I am NOT claiming medieval Geoffrey was pronounced / dzef/. I

Last year I had to call more than a dozen different pharmacies and was so frustrated to not be able to talk to a human once (across the spectrum). Your only option was to leave a message and wait for a call back. Exceptionally maddening when searching for a place to have a medication called in.

I'm 5'7" and have similar yet different pain. Regular length too short and tall are way too tall. I'd just buy the tall and wear heels in my 20s, but not a chance now. My solution is to rarely wear jeans so it is more rare I am annoyed.

It's been cool and rainy for days. Six soccer games cancelled (I would rather watch in rainy Sept than makeup freezing Nov) I want to put on sweats and snuggle on my couch, but I did that yesterday. Putting on a real bra and real pants and hopefully getting something productive done.

Costco denied my P&G rebate because I spent $99.65. I am not arguing, just highly annoyed (mostly with myself). Still within the spend window so I could go buy something else and resubmit, but I'm too eye-rolly. Maybe on Sunday I will feel more empowered and get some menstrual products to donate.

Seriously I've tried scrubbing bubbles, dawn power wash, bar keepers friend, magic erasers, drill brushes, steam cleaners. We have crappy water and are not squeegee people (well I am, but I'm not going to if everyone is not going to). I am here to say I was influenced and I am amazed.

Nieces live across street from their grade school. Eldest has it timed to roll out of bed, brush hair/teeth, dress and walk out the door eating toast. Youngest rides bus to different school for 4k and we're still working on getting her to not rip off her shoes every day like she does in the car.

Got my flu shot at my annual gyno appt. That's a first for me, but I appreciate the combo visit. Also my nexplanon implant is good for 5 years so I didn't have to have that replaced. All around great visit. Highly recommend. (Will cobra paperwork get it right? Who knows.)

Yeah I have one cc that is super alert so that's the one I use for anything suspect. I missed the alert questioning the charge so it locked down (as it should and I'm thankful but also ugh as I panicked when it wouldn't work at the ballpark last night.)
