What usually happens is that I come up with some plot beats that interest me and then drop characters into my story and see if it works. The last script I wrote - some scenes I thought were a good idea no longer worked with the way characters had developed - so I changed the scenes

I've spent two years doing a weekly course for Finnish - and my teacher asked me to name three vegetables. Recognised the word "three", then after a long and painful bit of coaxing, I finally managed to suggest 'Pepper' (Paprikka) and 'Carrot' (Porkanna). That's it that's the extend of my Finnish.

There was this incredible, greasy pizza that did the best hot peppers and pineapple pizza it was called Papa George's in point st Charles Montreal. They closed down almost 20 years ago, I still think about them once a month
