Switching between platforms should be easy and seamless, which is why Android 17 has a ground-up new transfer system that transfers even more of your stuff, wirelessly and without the need for a separate app. Works with Photos, contacts, sure, but also passwords, Wi-Fi credentials, and even eSIM.

Made a little video showing how fake call detection works on Android. It's actually quite clever in how it works to solve a real problem. (Of course my favorite part is that it takes advantage of RCS technology. 😅) youtu.be/ZHTOLbHbnQY?...

I didn't care at ALL about having it on my Fancy Bike until I just swapped wheels and had to re-index. It's a thing that will matter like once a year but ...well yeah I was taken aback!

000

Dieter Bohn @backlon.com · 08/05/2026

I just stood there and stared at the derailleur and thought: I'm done? That's it? That can't be it. I think that's it? I'll still keep mechanical on the city bike and electronic shifting is still just a nice to have when riding. But for setup? Holy crap man this was so easy it feels wrong.

180

Dieter Bohn @backlon.com · 08/05/2026

Me: electronic shifting is nice I guess, but I'm happy with mechanical for the most part and like that I don't have to remember to charge another thing. Me after re-indexing Di2 once: Wait, what? This took literally one minute. What? WHAT? what. wut. I .... I am converted.

The true fan knows that the wins are also empty and meaningless, like the universe itself.

1230

Dieter Bohn @backlon.com · 07/12/2025

It is only when all hope is lost and you are staring the inevitable emptiness of the universe in the face that you can be truly free. You realize meaning is impossible yet still created through absurdity. Give up on thought and act with purpose where no purpose exists. All is folly! Skol Vikings

14 unanswered points. The Minnesota Vikings are BACK*! . . . . (*to giving fans hope they can compete before ultimately crushing their dreams at the end)

1110

Dieter Bohn @backlon.com · 02/11/2025

Wait I got your scale wrong lol. If bike maintenance is a hobby and you can easily afford to blow like 175 bucks on a hobby ...and get real satisfaction from owning good tools (for yourself and potential friends in need), worth it. But it's totally ok to take it in.

210

Dieter Bohn @backlon.com · 02/11/2025

I had the same motivation! I aspire to be able to fix any bike problem myself, but recognize there are limits. From a learning / hobby perspective, 10/10. From a cost perspective, a good bleed kit isn't cheap and I will use it very rarely, so like 2/10. Overall I give it a 7 😂

Vikings ....didn't vike? I'm confused.

1100

Dieter Bohn @backlon.com · 28/09/2025

I'd like to say vikes gonna vike but the essence of vike is to make you believe it's worth having hope in the first place. So what the vikes have viked is the very concept of vike.
