Dad made it one year playing pro football. In his later years he was diagnosed Parkinson’s When they scanned his brain it looked like he had tadpoles in his head. Likely from repeated head concussions. The end of his life was not pretty. Don’t play football.

The damage that has been done will take a long time to fix, don’t think it will automatically unwind because they are gone. I think many of them belong in prison for what they have done. But like a house that has been on fire, the flames may be out, but the damage is done, repairs take time.

Data centres, open put mining etc will take years of court battles to shut down because of contracts that will likely have huge fines for cancelling. Private schools existed before and will after. All the bad things aren’t going to disappear with the UCP

The separatist thing has been around for awhile, and they won’t accept a loss. We might be able to slow down privatization but it will cost a fortune to buy back what has been sold to private interests already. And it won’t fix the shortage in healthcare workers that is global.

Today would have been my 25 th anniversary if I had stayed. I did a midnight run. Told no one. With my parents, one on the edge of dementia in tow. Built a new life. After 15 yrs of abuse. The dark times. And I survived.
