v0.95 was the first release on noq, with multipath. We've cleaned things up a *lot* since then. We're now roughly at parity with v0.95 in terms of holepunching performance. Next step is to keep knocking out corner cases

If you're wondering why iroh 1.0 is taking a minute it's because this is the viewer we needed to build to make sense of the logs. And yes, there is a spec for the log format, which we also had to implement Real infrastructure takes time, and we're very, very close

Great rundown from teammate @frando.bsky.social on why QUIC & p2p connections go together like peas and carrots. Also s/o Internet Archive. The disambiguation of p2p alone is worth a watch archive.org/details/p2p-...

People often look at ornate, 300 year-old marble buildings carved by hand from & ask "why can't we make buildings like that anymore?" WHY CAN'T WE MAKE WEBSITES THAT WORK ANYMORE!?

This strikes me as the crux of how the knowledge economy now looks way more like the service economy: we need to remain a high source of signal in the eyes of our peers by gating out the slop. hbr.org/2025/09/ai-g...

the running gag around the office is "multipath will fix this", so we wrote a blog post about what the heck multipath is & why it's going to make everything better: www.iroh.computer/blog/iroh-on...

This post was super inspiring! Just updated the homepage to call out some of our current use in real stuff. We have the usage, but it's not easy. As for being rough on the edges, I would love to hear *any* feedback on where we can improve. Hoping to contribute to a more viable P2P LoFi world.

This is how we think is should look: Iroh blobs has all of this build in. the gateway example covers HTTP bridging: github.com/n0-computer/... Our lack of documentation is a crime. Working on it

With dumbpipe wired up we can now dial by ED keypairs & start talking HTTP to an ATProto server. Great! But how do we find those addresses in the first place? For that we need a small orchestration service I'm calling "groundwork". It keeps a mapping of DID ->> Iroh Node IDs.

Ok, a rundown of how we get p2p ATProtocol going: 1. Run *standard* ATProto services, locally 2. Use p2p to holepunch TCP connections 3. Add a thin layer for peering management Bundle all that up in an app, and we have a recipe for adding resilience & scaling to Bluesky. 🧵 teim:
