From what I've heard from installers, they also sucked in cold climates, meaning costly repair/replacement. The connectors and wiring harnesses were designed for warmer climates and they didn't think before marketing them in cold climates. Also, related, Elon is a Fascist. 😑

You may not be able to get low albedo shingles, but you can get light color or white standing seam steel roofing, which can act as low albedo, even with the high heat transferability of steel. I had them lay mine over one existing layer of asphalt shingle for an extra (thin) air barrier.

The US doesn't give public support for childcare and it's basically left to the private market, which is not at all cheap. Private equity has bought into the market, just like they have into youth sports, which means everything geared toward kids has been monetized and companies profiteer off it.

It's not native in North America and is a horrible invasive. This happens both ways. I was surprised to visit Europe and see our Virginia Creeper vine all over Rome, deemed an invasive. English Ivy, as it's called here, does destroy native ecosystems and we do remove it.
