Hikaru just doesn't think of herself as being mage material, is basically what it comes down to. She has enough to make herself useful as a backup healer, and to make her version of Paladin work properly, but beyond that, she REALLY cannot be bothered to put on the damned wizard hat.

While Hikaru is considered an All-Rounder, the Extended timeline only has her touch on healing when it comes to magic jobs, and she does it... well enough. Having the aptitude doesn't necessarily means she cares enough to study and build upon it to the same extent that Yoshi and Phil do. :P

- magic She inherited her aptitude from her father, which is why an aetheric aptitude device she used during ARR postgame displayed the conjury emblem right away. That said, her aptitude rating as of Dawntrail is stupidly high. As in, higher than Yoshi (who would otherwise be in the lead).

- singing Hikaru is noted as having an exceptional singing voice. She is also *incomprehensibly* embarrassed by it, and avoids singing in earshot of anyone if she can help it. Mechanically, this manifests via her version of the Bard job, as she sings rather than plays instruments.

In #XIVExtended, some of the Endwalker and Dawntrail artifact armor is noted as being Hikaru's designs, Kiros' gear in particular. It helps that one of Hikaru's many odd jobs in Gyr Abania was as an assistant to a clothier.

re: Hikaru - art (specifically, drawing/costume design) She's able to recreate Agrias' Holy Knight armor (which was never visually documented in the few Ivalician history books), sketching it based on dictation from Agrias herself after the events of the Ivalice raids.

It took almost a year, but finally located an exemption to get back on a GLP-1 (tirzepatide). (in California, GLP-1s used to be covered under Medicaid but state budget issues put them on the chopping block unless you qualified under specific exemptions, such as sleep apnea or diabetes.)

I won't lie, even though I've mostly clawed my way out of a massive crisis of confidence, I'm still being hounded by a lot of self-doubt. I think some of it leaked into the later parts of Ringbearer (particularly when Hikaru briefly considered stopping wedding prep in light of 7.5 MSQ reveals).

2 years ago I was very close to just scrapping the entire #XIVExtended timeline because of a betrayal. I was able to salvage it, though it required having to throw out at least 3 side quests, phasing out one character and hard-expunging one character from the timeline.

Yoshi in WoW is both OC and meta-commentary on how I perceive myself well, I suppose XIV Yoshi is too, but WoW Yoshi tilts even more intensely into the latter, to the point of being VERY fourth-wall-breaking about it.

When Hikaru got her bracelet (with an artificial White Mage crystal) in ARR, one of the selling points to the job for her was that she could stifle period cramps (and other fun trappings) via Esuna. Much safer than chugging meds! She couldn't put that bracelet on fast enough! #XIVExtended

as of the end of base Endwalker, Hikaru gets a freebie Reraise via the Reverence/Credendum Armor, so I suppose she has two. That said, I like to think of it as being like the boss fights in the first Breath of Fire, where the second HP bar is hidden (but isn't necessarily equal to the original).

After the events of Castrum Centri, Hikaru got clearance to field a squad (whose members don't need to be Scions). It was in recognition for her taking the initiative to lead the rescue. This is my explanation for Hikaru having party members who aren't Scions or don't interact with them.

of the #XIVExtended party, only Hikaru, Yoshi and Cerol are officially considered part of the Scions. The rest of her party members are, per Tataru's records, considered either outside adjutants or advisors under her command, and are paid a stipend per major operation.
