Wow. Justice Murray pulled no punches in her decision (a jaw-dropping read as an American) and basically told Parliament “this unconstitutional law is killing people and you have 6 months to fix it.” Hopefully Parliament actually acts on it promptly since time is lives.

It really feels shitty that my only choice is to subject myself to something distressing and injurious to me (voting in-person with this state’s absurd processes) if I want to exercise a basic right. Mailing me a ballot at all feels cruel when it’s unusable.

I found out that the witness signature requirement means I’m not actually able to vote by mail. The process of voting in-person is needlessly burdensome because of multiple disabilities. But the MN Supreme Court said 🖕 disabled voters. I may not be able to vote this fall.

Minnesota’s absentee balloting is much more convoluted than it should be. I nearly had a meltdown when doing early voting in person in the primaries. Now I find out the ridiculous witness requirement means I can’t actually vote by mail. I guess they don’t want disabled people voting in this state.

My autism diagnosis has been so helpful. The report explained what other people might be experiencing from me. Not an easy read, but I’m grateful to know it. The diagnosis also helps connect so many of my chronic conditions since most are known comorbidities in autistic people.

I think hair loss was part of what cracked my egg. Just estradiol and finasteride helped me grow back most of what I lost. Even after almost 5 years I’m still getting a little more back. This is a really big deal since I keep my hair very short (comfort/sensory reasons) so no way to hide balding.

On Tuesday, September 15 at about 12pm, a bat was found on the sidewalk on Hennepin Ave between N. Washington Ave and N 3°St.
The bat died and was sent for rabies testing. This bat tested positive for
rabies.
A woman was seen crouching by the bat and putting it into a bag. She was described as a 25-to-30-year-old white woman, about 5'5", with curly brown hair and a curly-haired golden retriever-like dog. If this was you, please call 911 and ask to be connected to Animal Care & Control.
Bites from bats are tiny, may be painless, and may not leave a mark. An person who had physical contact or touched this bat should talk with health care provider this weekend for assessment. During the week, Minnesota Department of Health can also provide rabies assessments at 651-201-5414.
If vou did not touch or have any contact with the bat, you have no risk of rabies and do not need shots.

The attending epileptologist even noted the limitations of scalp EEGs in focal epilepsy in the report for my inconclusive EMU stay. I have strong mixed feelings about my stay. It helped in some unintended ways, but was marred by technical issues and left me in a strange limbo.

🫂 I was technically discharged but hadn’t yet left the hospital when I finally had the seizure I was trying to capture in the EMU for 5 days. Only 4 hours after monitoring stopped. The nurse witnessed part of it, called the NP and tech into the room, and their observations got documented.

I’m originally from Arizona and lived in the southwest for 30 years, half of that in Colorado. Mountains are very familiar to me. The Appalachians have some of the most spectacular mountain scenery I’ve ever seen. Shenandoah NP and Great Smoky Mountains NP are 2 of my favorite national parks.
