Please admire my recently refinished handrail: as solid a piece of hardwood as you could ask for. Last weekend I scraped and sanded off all the old finish and decided to just use clear sealant. Returned it to service before anyone might need it.

This is my first year growing them. One is ground level and split into three stems. The other is more than four feet tall. 😳 I have some other dahlia plants but those are the only ones to bloom so far.

Loved seeing how many people were out and about going to independent bookstores yesterday. I bought a couple of children's books for my little free library, grabbed a free book on growing tomatoes, and purchased three books for myself.

I’ve been making them for every holiday. At Christmas we did little cups to use up the chocolate leftover from dipping other candies.

Candy nests made variously with desiccated coconut and semisweet chocolate, butterscotch chips or white chocolate dyed pale green, with jelly beans for eggs. Arranged on a glass serving plate, covered in plastic wrap.

This was the first lunchbox I had. I chose a picture of a rusty one because it was ALWAYS rusty. Anything that leaked made it rust. My olfactory memory is pickle juice and rust.
