re the JCO tweet I don't think LLMs can replace romance novels that's insanely rude however her larger point is correct. Not all books are created equal, for example I do think LLMs can replace Dungeon Crawler Carl and those books where they rewrite a public domain novel to also have zombies

definitely, though to me it still reads as well-written and doesn't have the "slop cadence" some other ai-written or ai-assisted articles i've read do. the only line that does read that way to me is "The camera showed what I was carrying in my hands. It couldn’t show what he was carrying that night"

instinctively to me, it seems unreasonable to mark the final output you wrote as ai-generated when it quite literally wasn't. (i say unreasonable like a human decided; i would be very surprised if they were *intentionally* marking human-written rewords of things that were originally ai as 100% ai)
