Reposted by AuxelP-Y @p-y.wtf · 02/10/2026It's 2026 and Android Studio stills loads projects with the "Android" view that hides your actual project structure and doesn't display the location of the files you open. Still treating Android devs like babies who shouldn't see a file that the Android team didn't think was important 2253
Auxel @auxel.co · 15/08/2026Ever since I updated to AGP 9 IntelliJ is unable to find the sources for just about any library I import. Additionally, sometimes the IDE shows the imported symbols in red, indicating it can’t resolve them, but everything compiles just fine. Is this happening for anyone else?? It’s quite annoying… 000

Auxel @auxel.co · 09/06/2026I’m assuming that a lot of the work put into embedded Swift was in order to accomplish this? I was actually looking into integrating Swift into my hobby kernel, so it’s kind of funny to see that Apple was already working on doing the same for XNU. 😄 110

Swift for the Kernel was an awesome project to work on this year! I'm very happy to have been able to make these first steps towards a truly memory-safe kernel possible :) 1153
Auxel @auxel.co · 02/06/2026This unfortunately has been a consistent annoyance for me with Compose because of how inconsistent it is. I’ve noticed that the behavior also changes across Android OS versions, so it’s worse than just keyboard type. 010

Auxel @auxel.co · 13/03/2026I have a 2006 MacBook to thank for getting me into development with Xcode, which ultimately resulted in my career as a programmer. That poor MacBook had no business running Xcode year after year, but it’s what I had, and it was all I needed to get started. Hopefully the Neo is that to someone else. 020

Auxel @auxel.co · 22/01/2026That’s been my plan for a bit now, so glad to hear it’s what you recommend. I’m hoping Google will implement a few of the highly requested features in the new multiplatform plugin. I’m not getting my hopes up too much, but the issues are still open on their tracker, so there’s at least a chance! 🤞 100
Auxel @auxel.co · 15/01/2026@zsmb.co Do you have an idea as to when IntelliJ will be updated with AGP 8.13 support? I wanted to update since it supposedly will fix some issues I’m having with the new Android Multiplatform Library plugin. I’d prefer to not have to use Android Studio since I have IntelliJ Ultimate. 100
Auxel @auxel.co · 08/01/2026So then effectively every “output target” (i.e. a desktop app, ios app, android app) will all be their own separate modules now that link against shared KMP libraries modules? If so then at least the idea of having each target be its own module is consistent and it’s no longer just an Android thing. 100
Auxel @auxel.co · 08/01/2026Are there any plans for Google to make a dedicated KMP Android app plugin like they did for the Android library plugin? 100
Reposted by AuxelMárton Braun @zsmb.co · 05/01/2026Alright folks, let's start the new year with a quick feedback round: What's your number one problem with using KMP today? 15112
Auxel @auxel.co · 05/01/2026It feels like the build system is constantly shifting and never really settles. This latest Android plugin migration has been the worst. It was super nice to be able to have a single module for an Android and desktop application, and now that has to be split out for very little to no gain. 250
Auxel @auxel.co · 23/12/2025I wish there were more / better resources on Skia shaders. I know they’re functionally identical to OpenGL shaders (at least last I checked), but as someone who wants to use shaders in Compose but has little to no shader experience, it’d be nice if there were more beginner Compose / Skia resources. 110
Auxel @auxel.co · 22/12/2025I love it when there’s a root shell and/or uBoot on the serial device. It makes my life so much easier when trying to mod / RE things. 😆 010
Auxel @auxel.co · 17/12/2025It’s so true it hurts. Jetbrains can make some questionable / annoying decisions at times, but man, Google is probably my single biggest annoyance with the Kotlin ecosystem. 😆 010

Auxel @auxel.co · 17/12/2025These Android KMP changes have been a complete mess IMO. Everything feels half baked and super frustrating to work with for minimal gain. The fact that I now have to have separate Gradle modules for an Android and desktop app sucks a lot, and the new Android library plugin has lots of known issues. 110
