I flush in the summer heat. “Why? Common experience for you?”

“Not with food, no.” His voice lowers and his eyes darken.

My mouth waters involuntarily at his teasing. My veiled attraction to him is frustrating beyond belief. “You’re such an ass.” I sigh with a blank stare.

He raises his eyebrows. “So, that’s a yes?”

“Oh, for sure.” I play it off sarcastically, hating that he’s called my bluff.

His eyes narrow. He raises a chip, slathering it dramatically with as much of the neon cheese as possible, brings it to his mouth and rolls a languid, exaggerated stroke of his tongue over it. The pink flesh catches on the crunchy salt crystals as he holds treacherous eye contact with me.

“Jayce, what is wrong with you?” I remark with narrowed slits for eyes and the hint of a smirk on my lips.

“The kind of wrong I think you like,” he purrs, popping the rest of the chip in his mouth. Then winks. Fucking winks. I’m sure he’s enticed many a girl to bed with this enticing act. Hell, he had me weak-kneed just minutes ago. Dopamine still roars through my neural circuitry, and I kick myself for falling prey to his villainous wiles.
