So there you have it. My ex-publishers who last year stopped paying me for the seven books I'd written for them, have today gone back on their promise that some of the money that they owe me and their other authors would come through. I should have guessed.. www.thebookseller.com/news/unbound...

Unbound authors will not receive unpaid royalty payments until new publisher Boundless 'is cash stable'
As founder John Mitchinson leaves, Unbound authors learn they will not receive historic royalty payments for sales of their books unless Boundless "survives and thrives".

Fabulous quote for my May 13 release, ATACAMA, from @authorhelengj.bsky.social! Thank you, Helen! #books #thriller #horror
Geometric pattern background with the image of Jendia Gammon's novel ATACAMA, publishing via Sley House Publishing, and a review quote that says:
"Jendia Gammon weaves lush description with ratcheting tension to deliver a story that is both chilling and compelling. Atacama is a book that will stay with the reader long after the last page."

It’s #findsfriday and here for your enjoyment is the Nebra Sky Disk, which I was lucky enough to see at the Stonehenge exhibition a couple of years ago. Made of bronze, it dates back to 1600 BC, and is considered the oldest depiction of the night sky
A circular bronze disc, with gold inlays showing the sun, moon, stars and what is thought to be the Pleiades constellation. Mounted on a column with a dark background

The amazing part isn’t just the wrong answer, but that the explanation it gives is accurate — and it *simply doesn’t know that 27 is a smaller number than 32.* Billions of dollars spent to make a black box machine that doesn’t know something elementary school kids know.
AI OVERVIEW from Google search: “No, water will not freeze at 27 degrees Fahrenheit; water freezes at 32 degrees Fahrenheit. So, if the temperature is at 27 degrees Fahrenheit, the water will still be liquid.
Explanation: The freezing point of water is 32 degrees Fahrenheit, meaning that water will begin to turn into ice when the temperature drops below 32 degrees Fahrenheit.
Key point: Water freezes at 32 degrees Fahrenheit. “

On the right of the image is the front of the paperback, with the title in gold font, editors Jendia Gammon & Gareth L. Powell named on a ribbon scroll along the bottom, and various speculative fiction images in gold, black, and red, such as a planet with a red ring, a golden bat, a graveyard, an open book with a long gold sword in it, a small dragon and its fire, a castle, and an astronaut helmet.

Went for a solstice wander in the woods yesterday, then another beneath a brilliant blue-gold sunset. I prefer the winter solstice to the summer one; it feels like light sparking in the darkness, like potential as the wheel of the year turns. Plus there are mince pies ✨ #wintersolstice
