hello friends of bluesky! i'm looking for a sensitivity reader that specializes in samoan culture and character. i've found a couple that do polynesian sensitivity reads in general (though i welcome more suggestions), but if you know of anyone who reads for samoa specifically please let me know :)

Hi, we are an alternative to Amazon-owned Audible 👋🏻 With us, you select the independent bookshop you want to support (we have 3,000+ partners across the globe), and we share profits from your purchase with them. We're also employee-owned and a registered Social Purpose Corporation.

DM me!! (pretty sure they're open to anyone jejdks) and I'll see what I can do!!

funnily enough I think I can probably help point you in the right direction! I have a bud who is reconnecting Cherokee and have been looking into my own ancestry, so I have a ton of resources on this type of research specifically!

40k is usually where I have to stop and admit defeat and start writing an outline lmaoo

Just read the NHL Tie-Breaking procedures for determining playoff positions. Dozens of criteria. Then, if hockey results don't decide it, they move on to Figure Skating, Rod Hockey, Home Run Derby, Slam Dunk Contest, Flag Football, Gymnastics, Synchronized Swimming, One-Day Iditarod, and Iron Chef.

the joy of hitting 78k words while working on edits only to have to delete two chapters and completely rewrite them

Don’t forget to support indie authors even if you’re boycotting Amazon!! #writingcommunity let’s start a thread of places your books are available outside of the Zon!! there are so many ways to support indie (especially marginalized) authors!! #writesky #booksky

working on edits? no. hello kitty island adventure

as in, they want you to keep staying in the Amazon ecosystem no matter what because it will eventually drive out all competition and then they can jack the prices up to whatever they want. I have and use KU when needed but I have begun my divestment from Amazon and u should too!! authors too!! 🩷🩷

re: boycotting Amazon (good) being a detriment to indie authors, I keep hearing the argument that reading enough on KU costs Amazon more than what you pay for the subscription— Amazon always has sold books at a loss, and I promise that they do not care. that's exactly what they want to happen.

Taco Bell Quarterly @tacobellquarterly.org · 08/03/2025

like the cycle isn't going to break unless everyone collectively removes themselves from the Amazon ecosystem! Amazon requiring exclusivity so indie authors can't sell elsewhere is BAD! if readers find new places to buy, authors will follow.

Put the word out that we're back. Think of us. We open 4/20 for a short window for a print issue in the fall. We want poems, prose, art, comics & beyond. Free to submit, free to read online always, we now pay $150 + comp copies + eternal literary infamy. More prestigious than the Paris Review.

I am so proud to represent such an amazing bunch of authors, and next week I’ll be at London Book Fair sharing their brilliant work across Children’s, Adult and Graphic Novels. Editors, I’ve still got one or two slots left so get in touch if you want to hear more! #LBF25 #LondonBookFair
