Ottawa tracking allegations of foreign interference in Alberta referendum, Carney says — Toronto Star

This is assuming lawyers can use software at all, which is a step too far for many still in practice. As for complex renumbering across documents and databases; LLMs help greatly.

Understand what is at stake on October 19 here in Alberta. The referendum isn't about AB Independence, or sending a message to Ottawa. It is about right-wing and foreign interference to begin delegitimizing Canadian sovereignty: www.youtube.com/watch?v=__89... blogs.lse.ac.uk/lseih/2020/0...

You can tell how politically important the October 19 referendums are to the UCP by the number of cabinet ministers currently on international trips two weeks ahead of the vote.

Jen Gerson with more truth bombs: “Voting to leave is not sending a message to Ottawa. It’s sending a message to Washington.” “The message is this: Canada is weak, regionally divided, and can be turned on itself for America’s benefit. Ultimately, that message hurts all of us, including Albertans.”

Arizona court says judge wrongly allowed AI-generated victim video
An Arizona appeals court on Wednesday ordered a new sentencing hearing for a man convicted of a fatal road-rage shooting, finding that a judge improperly relied on an AI-generated video depicting the victim speaking about forgiveness and addressing the defendant directly.

giving AIs personalities is bad for you in general, but if this sounds like a good idea to you, the best thing you can do is go build it and fully control the entire stack. because if you don't, you will stop thinking of this as a thing made of gears and parts, and you will start to cook yourself.

Feels a lot like Fable 5.1, but cheaper than that was. So useful, but not game changing. At this point nothing I am doing requires more breadth, but instead more fine-detail insight, which is difficult to train/prompt for.

I keep meeting smart informed Albertans who tell me they do not intend to vote, because they don’t want to legitimize the process, or because they know the premier is not bound by the results. But what if making us give up on voting is the whole point? My argument to vote - no matter the absurdity.

The decision to quibble over dictionary definitions rather than address Canadians' fear that the American political system is fundamentally antagonistic towards us sure seems like exactly the point Max made about any real desire for fundamental change by the US towards the Canadian relationship.

Doesn't matter, everything is about the American ego, so you have to use American connotation of terms and not the dictionary definition. Sorry I don't make the rules!

I don't understand this confusion between a political mandate and a functional one. Particularly in an era of US politics when SO much power is concentrated in the executive. Much of what Trump promised to do can be done - without Congressional oversight. This just reads like American ego saving.

Considering the lack of consequences for January 6, overall trend of past US administrations to “move on” from previous ones, gerrymandering, it’s reasonable for Canadians to question whether Dems will seek accountability, and to distrust whether trade can be restored. UAW supports tariffs.
