I mean as reminders that it's snake time it was a reasonable outcome. Better than confronting one of the Eastern Brown's up close and way too personally, but could have lived without the initial heart palpitations at the sight of a flailing native bird.

The outcome - Magpies won the bird fight and saw both wedgies off. Snake managed to escape in the panic of us arriving on scene as well. Eagles took to the air mildly pissed off with everybody.

1st snake sighting of the year was a bit of a rollercoaster. Flailing wings in the paddock and I instantly thought oh god bird flu alert. Nope - 2 wedgetail eagles - fighting off multiple attacking magpies, whilst trying to carry off a bloody big snake.
