Do you work with microscopy images and segment to quantify or track? Do you study cell biology? development? Gather round! Let me tell you about FOCUS-3D, a segmentation algorithm that is fast, accurate and can be used on any model. We used it here to study zebrafish development. 🧪 (thread)

We found that TIR domains in animal immune proteins, including the human TLR4, are enzymes that cleave NAD+ to produce the signaling molecule cADPR Read our new preprint by talented Bohdana Hurieva: “Conserved catalytic activity of immune TIR domains in animals” www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...

Out today @ Science: TIR signaling activates caspase-like immunity in bacteria We report a new immune signaling molecule: N7-cADPR. Produced by phage-induced TIRs and activates a defensive bacterial caspase Congrats Francois Rousset, Ilya Osterman and coauthors! www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...

These studies are so important. Well done to the authors and the journal for publishing it. This certainly applies to so many antibodies. Companies selling antibodies should do and provide the right controls before commercialisation. www.nature.com/articles/s41...
