Because my friend uses mobility aids, we were in an ADA seating section in the otherwise general admission show at the Royale. The Damned were so good and I'm really happy I got to see them.

This statue of Athena is a favorite of mine. In the background is a video still of what they think she looked like when she was painted.

This statue of the Roman goddess Juno is 14 feet high, weighs several tons, and is actually made of 3 different statues. It stood in some rich family's garden in Watertown for decades and local kids were convinced it was haunted. Even so, the first time I saw it, I was filled with awe.

These little figures of the deceased persons in whose tombs they were found were labeled as "shawabty" which my brain kept trying to read as "shawty." They were meant to do work for the person in the afterlife, kind of like house elves that look like you.

"Don't mind me, I'm just gonna lay still like I've been doing for the last 3,000 years." Actually, this coffin has someone in it. I dislike that the museum has human remains in coffins and also out on display, but TBH I didn't get a sense of any angry ghosts, so it's just me.

Last night's dinner was salmon chowder I made from stuff we already had around -- the salmon was in the freezer for months and I was tired of seeing it.

Jook. I didn't have Thai basil, but I had pork, ginger and hot pepper. The mushrooms are my own recipe addition because I like the contrasting textures. They got cooked with white pepper, fish sauce and garlic. Added sesame oil and soy sauce to the bowl for more flavoring.
