CHARACTER LAYOUTS. One of the important jobs , along with animation timers, that got absorbed into the storyboard artist role over the last decade, leading to tons of burnout and scope creep. look at the clarity of storytelling you can get when you bring back lost roles!

#storygraph wrap up time!📚💙 So pleased with my nonfiction reading this month. I’ve been aiming for it to represent a quarter of my yearly reading and the last 2 months are really helping w/ that goal. Personal stats: 70% of the books I finished were #bingobooks this month and 2 of them made Bingos!🎉
A collage of all the books I finished in September. Gulp by Mary Roach, Colette Decides to Die Vol 2 & 3 by Alto Yukimura, The Upcycled Self by Tariq Trotter, Flamboyants by George M Johnson, Anita de Monte Laughs Last by Xochitl Gonzalez, The Spider and the Fly by Mary Botham Howitt & Tony DiTerlizzi, A Terribly Nasty Business by Julia Seales, The Scarlet Pimpernel by Baroness Orczy, and Legendborn by Tracy Deon.A calendar of all the books I read in September and when. The list is the same as the collage except for Tell Me a Story Where the Bad Girls Win by Caitlin McGurk that I soft DNFed at the beginning of the month and the four books I haven’t finished yet. Those books are Map Art Lab by Jill K. Berry & Linden McNeilly, Whereas by Layli Long Soldier, Insectopolis by Peter Kuper, and Lies and Weddings by Kevin Kwan. The first page of stats. The top row shows the total of books finished (10), number of pages read (944), and hours listened (65.88). The next row shows the first (Gulp), the middle (Anita de Monte Laughs Last), and last (Legendborn) read in August. To the right is the average book length (284 pages) and average time to finish (4 days). At the bottom is a line graph of pages read/minutes listened across the days of the month. The highest point is minutes listened above the 500 mark on the 27th. Next is the day before half way between 500 and 250 minutes listened. All other points sit between a little over 250 and a little over 0. The biggest pages read days were the 5th and the 19th, all there are at 0 or slightly above. The second page is mostly pie charts. The top row compares fiction vs nonfiction (70-30), page count of books less than 300 vs the 300-499 range (33-67), and audiobook lengths of less than 8 hours vs the 8-15:59 range vs 16 plus hours (29-57-14). Below that is my most read genres bar graph with historical and fantasy at the top with 3 books and YA, Manga, and Mystery just below with 2 each. Right off that is the final pie chart comparing Audio vs Print books (70-30).

I need a place to post my #storygraph stats (so I have an excuse to look at them👀). Personal stat: except for the manga/picture book, these are all #bookbingo books: 33% vs 67%. The amount of non-fiction in August is truly doing the work to balance out the rest of the year (including September😅).
All the books I finished in August: Discourse on Colonialism by Aimè Cèsaire, This Place Will Kill You by Mariko Tamaka & Nicole Goux, They Called Us Enemy by George Takei, Cod by Mark Kurlansky, Chinese Cinderella by Adeline Yen Mah, Antiracist Baby by Ibram X. Kendi & Ashley Lukashevsky, Beyond the Clouds Vol 3 by Nicke, Canyon Dreams by Michael Powell, Golden Ax by Rio Cortez, Wanda Hears the Stars by Wanda Díaz-Merced & Amy S. Hansen, Colette Decides to Die Vol 1 by Alto Yukimura, and Dinosaur Sanctuary Vol 1 by Itaru Kinoshita.A calendar of August showing all the books I read, when, and what format. It includes all the books in the previous slide as well as a few books that were not finished: Map Art by Jill K. Berry & Linden McNeilly, Gulp by Mary Roach, Rainbow Bright Vol 1 by Jeremy Whitley & Brittney Williams, and Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen. There is a line indicating reading on every day.The first page of August 2026 Wrap-Up data. The top row lists books finished (12), number of pages read (1,432), and hours listened (35.98). Below that is a list of the first, middle, and least book finished in August, Discourse on Colonialism, Antiracist Baby, and Dino Sanctuary respectively. Right from this are listed the average book length (187 pages) and average time to finish (4 days). Below is a line chart of pages/minutes read across days off the month. The largest data points are pages read on the 8th and 29th, both between 250 and 500. The next largest are minutes listened on the 1st, 15th, and 30th. The first and last sitting just below the 250 mark while the middle sits in between 250 and 500. Most other days sit towards the bottom or midway between 0 and 250.The second page of August 2026 Wrap-Up data. The top shows three pie charts of fiction (33%) vs Nonfiction (67%), page count: less than 300 (88%) vs 300-499 (13%), and audiobook length which is a perfect circle of less than 8 hours. Below is a bar graph and a pie chart showing genre trends and reading format. The graph shows history as the biggest genre with 4 books, manga and race next at 3 books, and fantasy and graphic novels with 2 books each. The pie chart is divvied up into print (42%), audio (33%), and digital (25%).

People are desperate for tangible things that can’t be taken away by greedy billionaires. CDs are cheaper and more portable than vinyl, and a greater portion of the money spent goes to musicians compared to the pennies provided by Spotify and Apple Music.

Over halfway through the year doing my #BookBingo Challenge and I haven’t posted much at all (for various extenuating circumstances), so I wanted to check in. Here’s a look at the boards.
A journal spread titled book bingo with three bingo boards checkered with colorful squares, some fully filled in and others merely tabbed. There is also a list of book titles and authors color codes to match the fully filled in squares. There are no bingos yet (fully filled in or otherwise).

People love to throw the word accountability while straying far from it. And not even caring about the actual victims. Personally whenever I see people dogpiling someone being accused of being bad. I'm like okay, but what do the victims want and how can you help THEM.
