I think the reduced padding on this new jacket helps too, I can cinch the forearms a lot closer to my true arm size than I could with the AP standard

And it achieves that without impeding any freedom in the arms at all ^^ I haven’t tied the elbow points to the sleeves just yet, this was just taken when I was making sure everything interfaces correctly which it does

It’s actually pretty cool how these forearms work, it’s really similar to how plate arms are put together There’s a strip of loop velcro on the inside, and the elbow pads have this tape with hook velcro that comes down the forearm. When you attach the forearms to it, it stops them flapping around

I might get a commission for this fairly soon! Dunno when, but I think it’s time considering my new armour’s design is already public. I did have an idea for a jousting scene, but I’d have to draw myself a lance. Easily doable over the next couple days though ^^

Forgot to mention this but the elbow shells for my jacket are here now ^^ Happy to tank bruises, the pain isn’t the problem for me. You want to protect the cartilage as best as you can given the arthritis risk from repetitive hits there

I tried books initially, and I fucking love reading (halfway through Knight of the Seven Kingdoms right now), but my brain is absolutely horrid when it doesn’t want to focus. I’d always end up getting about ten pages ahead, putting the book down and going back to Reddit or YT or whatever. [Cont.]

Now I SUCK at art but the ultimate goal was to just keep my dopamine away from social media feeds on /MY/ time. Was sick of being pelted with tripe like raw milk and people putting glitter on A5 Wagyu steak for cheap views. In that respect it kind of worked! Mentally, I’m in a good spot right now

It’s funny, I have this whole routine where I go chill at the coffee shop in the mall after my biweekly hour lifting in the gym. The problem was, I’d end up sucked into my phone, which inevitably led to me doomscrolling. I bought a standalone wacom so I could do something useful with the time ^^

I dunno, I just had an epiphany, Most ‘celestial’ character designs seem to focus on either the eldritch aspect of that, or a planetary sort of thing, or the traditional sort of idea of what angels look like. What if, I’ve been subconsciously wanting to do a funerary effigy motif this whole time?

Third concept is on the way! Currently looking for references, but I’d like to do something loosely based on CH57 (the Churburg armet), or the Avant armet. Fairly standard choices but I’d probably come up with something original for the visors haha

Happy to say that I will officially return from my hiatus when my new armour is rigged, in ~ mid November! I already announced it in my Discord last night, but figured I’d let you lot on socials know as well. Please see the attached images for further details ^^.

__Official hiatus end announcement - NOVEMBER!__

Hi! Some of you may know me as Durendal. Others, Gramr. Some might remember me when I still called myself Excalibur. However, I’ve had a bit of a reshuffle with my branding! Auncell is the name I will be sticking with.

I have had a long think over the past few days, weighing up things like the impending long dark after I’m done with my LARP event next weekend, and I’ve decided that my formal return from hiatus will be when my new armour is finished in **November!** Currently, the ETA for the rigged model is the 15th, which is just shy of two months as of today.

I look forward to seeing you lot again after so long away from streaming, and I hope we’ll get even more new faces with time ^^.

I do not have a debut planned for my return. I’ll just be coming back like I went to fetch milk and cigarettes. I may do one in the future! But, it’ll be when I feel the time is right.

I also realise I never really left my server, even if I’ve been away from streaming since before I left with my family to go on the Orlando trip.

In the meantime, if you’re at VeXpo, I’m still attending! Happy for anyone I know here to come say hi if you happen to be there.

Oh, and if anyone records the longsword tournament at my club at the end of this month, I’ll show you lot some of my bouts. One of the guys did record the last one I competed in, but he never posted them in the group chat. Shame, because there were honestly some really good exchanges and I’ve come a long way since I started fencing.
