Open your door for the God of Love! Au clair de la lune. A documentary nightscape tracking a sailboat aligned with the glowing full moon over Lake Michigan. Pure artistic nocturne composition.#luiscordobapharchive #chicago #lake #clairdelune #moon #landscape #sailing #nightphotography
Horizontal orientation night photograph tracking a white sailboat on the dark blue choppy waters of Lake Michigan in Chicago. A bright, luminous full moon glows in the dark blue night sky directly behind the boat, partially illuminating its tall white mainsail and jib. The sailboat, bearing identification numbers on its sail, carries visible passengers on deck. The vast horizon divides the deep blue water from the wide night sky, capturing a poetic and documentary maritime scene. Optimized for Lake Michigan sailing, Chicago night photography, maritime landscapes, full moon compositions, and nautical nocturnes indexing.

Since you've taken your place in my heart... Dahlia in the morning sun. This plant amazingly thrive under a canopy of neighbors' cherry and magnolia trees. It's getting mostly filtered sunlight. I planted 6 tubers n only 3 sprouted. Better luck next yr!!. #dahlia #pinkflowers #mygardenl

I know what you're wishing for LOVE IN A PEACEFUL WORLD.. Raspberry red dahlia in the morning sun on Friday. This is a more exciting fall color for me. Some of my dahlia plants are just starting to bloom now. #dahlia #raspberryred #fallcolor #mygarden
A close up side view of a half opened raspberry red dahlia with multi layers of petals in my garden. The petals are still tightly in bud stage in the center while a few rings of the outer layers of petals are unfurled. The flower is highlighted by the morning sun creating a glow.

New England aster (Symphyotrichum novae-angliae) is sold in Georgia but the native range in the state is rather small. Adaptable to a bushy, compact shape, the species is a favorite of gardeners for having numerous, large flowers whose ray colors range from pink to purple. (1/2)

Smooth blue aster (Symphyotrichum laeve) has smooth leaves (not rough like many blue asters). It has a small native range in NW Georgia but is often sold at native plant sales. It works well in containers where it can grow 2-3 feet tall.

LOVELY LIFER: Happy Sunday! Here are new views of a common gallinule (Gallinula galeata) that emerged from a marshy roadside before displaying less than stellar flying skills to cross a road in the Pinelands National Reserve. 🐦 📷: Paul Leakan, NJPC #birds #wildlife #nature
This is the first time I’ve seen this species. I wasn’t fully prepared for its sudden liftoff, but I was thrilled to see it! It immediately reminded me of its close relative, the American coot. Both are cute, chicken-like members of the rail family. “The Common Gallinule has long toes that make it possible to walk on soft mud and floating vegetation,” according to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. “The toes have no lobes or webbing to help with swimming, but the gallinule is a good swimmer anyway.” Have you seen common gallinules in the Pinelands? I don’t think they’re so common in these parts. This is the first time I’ve seen this species. I wasn’t fully prepared for its sudden liftoff, but I was thrilled to see it!
