Catching a sun beam is a fraggle flower or blue mist flower (Conoclinium coelestinum) this one is definitely more purple pink than blue. It's still very immature here and only has sparse muppet hairs popping out. It gets much hairier. The leaves are very beautiful, pairs opposite each other ovate and real toothy, like catnip or mint. Native here in New Jersey.

A Montauk daisy fresh and newly bloomed. So very clean and bright in fried egg white and yellow. The visitor on the edge of the cosmic whirling yellow tubular disc florets, the friend with the perfect antenna is (I think) a Ceratina. A small carpenter bee. So cute.

A squat pinkish little mushroom burst forth from wood chips. The cap is so firm and round and it makes a very satisfying thump when you thwack it with a finger. Is it edible? I don't know. I'm hesitant to risk it despite my incredible curiosity. One little nibble couldn't hurt could it?

Oh my, it's an anthurium in bloom. Um, it looks ... um ...pink and shiny and kinda ... lewd. I tried quite a few angles to try to tame it a little for polite society but they all look like this. I think this flower is just a bit of an perv. 🤷 Oh well, you do you flower with your Georgia O'Keeffe lookin ass.

A very simple sand castle made smooth by a recent wave on the beach. The only decorations are two feathers, one seagull and one osprey, sticking up out of a sand tower. The sky is blue with wispy white clouds and the waves are frothy with sea foam. The ocean is the Atlantic and the sand is the beautiful New Jersey shore.

Floppy-hat-like mushrooms, 8 smooshed together and 2 more a little ways off. They are jostling for space on my giant mountain of wood chips a few years old and rotting well. I'm fairly certain they are edible but I'm too chicken to try them. They have a deep brown spore print and are almost metallic gold in the sunlight.
