The LinkedIn feed has been heavily slop for as long as I can remember anyway, so AI isn’t ruining any experience their algorithm hasn’t already long since done!

You know LLMs have hit Google in the wallet when they think that sending out unsolicited Chris Pratt movie news is slick move. 🤡

Anytime I hear someone tell someone that “AI is coming to eat your lunch”, they don’t actually know anything about said lunch.

Work is a social relationship. We create things together. This is especially true of UX design. AI's value proposition is freedom from relationships. So when designers champion AI tools, we are not making ourselves layoff-proof. We are reinforcing a system that frames us as unnecessary friction.

UX works through social relationships. AI tools are erasing them.
Stakeholders want to vibe code and have designers clean up after them afterwards. But rather than helping with velocity, there is just more noise and more work for everyone.

The only AI feature I want on my phone is one that can automatically switch me to my following feed when I launch it.

It blows my mind they just abandoned absolute design fundamentals. I'm holding off that iOS upgrade in hopes it at least improves before I'm forced in to it.

Apple just threw out the rulebook with Liquid Glass. They really shouldn't have, especially as they were the ones who wrote it in the first place. #iOS #design

Oh wait, totally my oversight, sorry! I just went to the main account and in my excitement didn’t realise I replied to a repost. Well to you my fellow fan, happy release day! I hope you’re able to get some play time in on it soon.

Congratulations on the release! I've been following for years and really excited to get to play it.

Just saw the release email drop in Steam for this. Been following the development for a couple of years now and I'm so excited to play it. Other games are going back on the shelf for now, this once has jumped the line. Can't wait to clock out and fire this up!🤘

Fun fact: .co domains are expensive to help ward off domain squatters and make them feel more prestigious. And nothing says prestige quite like constantly being asked if you meant .com or if you missed the .uk, by people and forms alike. 👍

Seeing a lot if AI hype saying designers in the future should all be vibe coding, shipping and supporting what they make. If you’ve ever tried to balance design and engineering at the same time, you’ll know why this is nightmare and how design time will be pushed out.

My favourite recurring theme this #DesignMattersTokyo has really been the design leadership insights people have been sharing Even with all the talk of AI changing design, the big challenge in good design is the systems and collaborations we facilitate. And that’s entirely human

It’s Design Matters Tokyo 2025! It’s cool to be back for an annual injection of new ideas and perspectives from the design world. And I’ve already enjoyed some great conversations.

Sometimes what seems like a trivial feature request from a customer, when you look into it actually shows itself to be symptomatic of a much deeper beast of an issue hiding away. Gotta validate those problems and connect those dots! #productdesign

Critical and systems thinking, always own these. #AI can help your productivity in a ton of ways but once you give it control of those things you've sold yourself out.

The fact you can share the experience with friends really makes it as you explore and play catch with moon rocks. And of course, we geeked out over the tech behind it all too.

The whole experience is really nicely done. Avatar photos at check-in, smooth transition from MR→VR walking to the rocket, boarding, lift-off… and you have a virtual camera! Even the management of your time allowance is a seamless part of the experience.

Yesterday I visited Space Travelium TeNQ courtesy of STYLY to see The Moon Cruise experience they created for installation there. 🌒 It’s free roaming #VR, and so well designed and executed. Absolutely one of my all time favourite #XR experiences. Highly recommended!🧵

gAI art is bad because it's stealing labor. stealing labor from art is easy because no one sees art as labor, they see it as talent. they see it as talent because it's easier to believe they have a right to hate you because they can't stand they gave up and you didn't. fuck them, pay labor.

Both Genie 3 and Hunyuan’s GameCraft are opening the door for a potential metaverse more than anything we’ve seen so far. The ability for anyone to easily create compelling personalised worlds will amplify the draw to consumer #XR. Any "metaverse" adoption will be #AI driven. It's holodeck tech.

This is the digital equivalent of shaming people for using their cars for essential daily life while cruise ships dwarf the impact of that for nothing but luxury. Storage isn’t the problem, compute is. And even if it was an issue, storing them on your own personal drive would still be a better.

It’s a real shame though because a lot of Adobe’s newer generation tools have great teams and the results show. What enables them also seems to hold them back given that adoption I expect starts with individuals and not companies with budgets.

Leonard Burton @atomworks.bsky.social · 12/08/2025
With Adobe’s #AR tool Aero being abandoned, despite it being free I have to wonder if the anticipation of an inevitable steep subscription cost stops people even trying it in the first place, let alone want to build a product on it.

I’ve managed to port some of the basic Gaussian Splatting VFX experiments I did last year from Unreal to Unity. Looks great! VFXGraph made it an absolute pleasure, totally enabled by @_kzr’s open source packages. Next step is to see what limitations I hit in #VR & #AR.

Niantic Spacial just released their v3.15 SDK which now has Meta Quest 3 support. I’ve just started to experiment with the SDK and it couldn’t have dropped at a more perfect time. Perhaps the reason I needed to finally upgrade my Quest. #XR

The list of things I’m against is longer than the things I use though. And that’s just as important to me to put out there.

I’m considering a place to openly declare my personal policy on using AI. As I’ve got mixed feelings on AI overall ranging from productive to problematic, I feel like it’s important to be fully transparent on where I use it and what goes against my ethics. Is anyone else doing this?
