Finally got around to watching Train Dreams the other night. Fucking hell, what a beautiful film. Even just visually, it’s wonderful. Colour palette and cinematography reminded me a little of The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. A slow-moving, introspective masterpiece 🙌

This weekend felt like a throwback to one of those summer weekends from my childhood. Walked Skyline from my house (Churton Park end - about 23km) on Friday. Then spent yesterday and today with Rosie, riding bikes, going to the beach and then playing cricket until the sun went down.

Three years ago today we packed up a moving truck and car with everything we owned and moved to Wellington. As a city I love it to bits. Lifestyle wise, specially with a 5 year old, it’s amazing having everything so close. Job and mental health wise it has been the toughest years I’ve had though.
