I blooming love Spotify. Had a cr@p day at work. My Bob Ross bobble head has run out of batteries and couldn't find any in town to replace with. Bob Ross is one of my comfort shows. They have some on Spotify. So I am going to spend my bus journey back watching them.

Dare I say it? I prefer Practical Magic 2. There's more darkness, more Magic, more whimsy gothic and more scary IMHO than the first.

Dressing changed today. It's about a cm deep so it has healed quite a bit. Still taking things easy still.

I STAND WITH THE RNLI.

The RNLI is a charity that exists to save lives at sea. But recent events have generated deliberate misinformation and a misunderstanding about our purpose and our lifesaving work in the Channel.

As a result, some of our volunteers and staff have been the subject of online and, in some cases, physical abuse. This is unacceptable.

The RNLI’s people represent the very best of society. For over two hundred years they have dedicated themselves to rescuing people they’ve never met before, without judgment, fear or favour.

We are tasked by HM Coastguard to help those in distress, and we'll do so whenever, wherever and whoever they are.

We launched 9,058 times in 2025. Only 109 of those launches were to those in distress in the Channel – 1.2% of our total rescue work. Anyone rescued from a small boat by the RNLI is then taken into the care of the relevant UK authorities.

To those who stand with the RNLI, thank you. For more than two hundred years, we've saved lives at sea around the UK and Ireland, and that commitment remains unchanged.

I have written a to do list for tomorrow. This is to try and give me something to focus on as I am struggling with no structure due to being on sick leave. I have to buy birthday cards, pop to the pharmacy, arrange doctors note and pop to the bank. Still being gentle but allowing me feel productive.

Al @atbeingme.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

Managed to do some gentle crafting for 30 minutes today. Trying not to do too much as I don't want to upset the arm.

The antibiotics side effects have kicked in. 😢 So feeling a bit delicate today.

Book 2 of September's TBR finished. Due to the enforced rest and no crafting I am adding 2 more books to it!

Finished the first book of September TBR Hekate by Nikita Gill. Loved it! Can't wait to read more in this series. #reading #Hekate

Had an emergency operation yesterday to drain and infected cyst. Due to placement of cyst no stretching up or down and restricted movement of arms. So no crafting for a few days but a chance to do some reading and catching up on TV.

Yep! And all the neurodiversity stuff was majority men too 🙄 It's only in the past few years that women have been studied. X

110

Al @atbeingme.bsky.social · 28/08/2026

Are you still studying? Do you still have fur babies? Xx

120

Al @atbeingme.bsky.social · 28/08/2026

Perimenopausal and struggling with the tiredness, discovered (although still not officially diagnosed) that I am neurodivergent. Still crafting to keep me sane! Focusing more on what helps me in life. Perimenopause up scuttled my coping/masking mechanisms, so it's a whole learning curve.

Finally finished one set of Nudinits 🥳🥳🥳

My version of Nudinits. Bernard is on the left and Barbara is on right.

Cuz I am so rock n roll I am off to bed and attempt to stay up listening to Eurovision. But I am perimenopausal, feeling the New Moon, had fresh air and some wine. So who knows at what song I will drift off on or which page of my book I will stop at.

Done a bit of whimsy knitting. Made my Teddy bear a dress. #whimsy #knitting #teddybears

Pully is a well loved bear. She is pale brown in colour and is wearing a sea blue knitted dress.

Have discovered that you can set approximately when you need to/want to do a job on Finch. It then puts it in rough time order. That so helps my brain 😅🤣

Day 51 #365project #Hash in #Analog... Long before the tag. 𝙵𝚞𝚗 𝙵𝚊𝚌𝚝 This technical name for this symbol is the #octothorpe. It was designed in the #1960s at Bell Labs to add a button to the #PushButtonPhone specifically for #aesthetic reasons. #hashtag #MacroPhotography #photography

A grayscale, close-up shot of a vintage telephone keypad, focusing on the hash key (#) in the foreground. To its left, the "0 OPER" button is partially visible, while other keys are blurred in the background. The texture of the buttons and the phone's surface are emphasised.

Today has been a very mixed bag of emotions. Now I feel numb. Crochet or knitting is in order. I would also say a gin but it's a school night.

Definitely need to stick to no craft buy rule. Just been in my cupboard abd have felt very overwhelmed with the amount of stuff I have. 😲😮‍💨

When I told a few people exactly what I wanted for Christmas I got some strange questions. However I am so happy today as I got everything I wanted a pencil case, new pens, some hand cream, a new Pyrex dish and some gluten free cereal that I struggle to get where I live. Simple things 😊

Today we have made our last mortgage payment. There may have been times we have had to defer a payment. There may have been times when we struggled to make it. An inheritance helped to take a chunk off. Overpayment too. Today house is ours 🥳🥂

Miss you too xx Life has been a bit hectic over the past couple of weeks xx

I worked out the other day why I find Christmas difficult. It's the chaos that it brings. The fact that although undiagnosed I am sure I have AuAdhd. Has made me realise that the chaos overwhelms me thus leading to meltdowns.
