I remember those and Pick of the Pops. I had a couple of those albums when I were a wee lad

Spirit In The Sky / All Kinds Of Everything / Back Home / Daughter Of Darkness / Travellin' Band / I Can't Tell The Bottom From The Top / Gimme Dat Ding / Good Morning Freedom / Knock Knock Who's There / Young Gifted And Black / That Same Old Feeling / Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head

This is going to be an unpopular opinion... Their municipal code says that they must keep the smell contained to the site. They decided to open with that rule in place. We all get bent out of shape when corps ignore the rules. We can't be all 'get over it' when a company we like does it

Now I just have to right click on the file, select Get Info from the popup menu, find the full filename field and change it there. Don't forget to uncheck the Hide Extensions checkbox while you are in there or you'll be going back in again when you notice.

If I rename Jade Empire.iso to Jade Empire.xiso macOS will helpfully rename it to Jade Empire.xiso.iso and turn on 'hide extensions' for that file for me. Thanks Apple! That's exactly what I wanted to happen /s

My first July 4th as an American citizen. Mixed feelings today. The 250th anniversary should have made my first Independence Day as an American an amazing experience.

I noticed that there is almost no footage of the Iran conflict. The newest I could find, is back in March. That stands in stark contrast to the coverage the Afghanistan and Iraq wars got almost daily. Where's all the footage of bombs flying through windows and armored vehicles exploding?

Seven day ban over, this was in my inbox this morning Thanks for submitting an appeal. We reviewed your request and gave the following a second look: After reviewing, the Reddit admin team found that the content wasn’t in violation of Reddit’s rules. Thanks for nothing!

Ban over. Posted a comment on a Reddit post about a Cybertruck being stuck on a beach... "You got a swasticar, you are on your own, maybe leon cares..." 7 day ban.

110

Mr Robot @atari8bit.net · 01/05/2026

Reddit getting heavy handed with bans. I got a 1 week sub ban for suggesting the servicemen not getting a vaccine after kegsbreath removed the requirement was natural selection. Then I got a 3 day site ban for suggesting the best way for a Tesla owner to fix that problem was to burn their swasticar.

This does not need jack-boots and dictators, it needs collaboration and community engagement.

030

Mr Robot @atari8bit.net · 16/04/2026

Now @commodoreofficial.bsky.social needs open source it and accept pull requests for worthwhile improvements. Support is simple, "We only support the official firmware. If you need support and have changed your firmware, restore it to the official one and we will support you" Provide OTA FW updates

130

Mr Robot @atari8bit.net · 09/04/2026

Which just means we now have to watch for that change and then roll back the official firmware when it comes along. Community firmware from that point on. @commodoreofficial.bsky.social really misunderstanding the people who are buying these things, embrace the community or get pushed out.

Mr Robot @atari8bit.net · 09/04/2026

Just ban all guns, problem solved. Anyone found with a firearm or gun parts; instant jail time. No gun market means no ammo market, and no reloading equipment market.

100

Mr Robot @atari8bit.net · 09/04/2026

This is the kind of community engagement that @commodoreofficial.bsky.social needs to encourage, maybe open source the firmware and accept pull requests for worthwhile changes. I'd be trying to encourage new hardware mods as well, maybe in partnership with places like PCBWay who could sell kits.

Mr Robot @atari8bit.net · 25/03/2026

I say that as if it's a fact. I don't make any comment on whether I think it's a bad thing. There has never been a time in the history of the world, where the people banning books are the good guys

110

Mr Robot @atari8bit.net · 25/03/2026

Books are more dangerous. A gun can kill a man, books can take down a government

Winner winner! Gamenative is coming along very well, just added GOG support, looks like it's kicking Gamehub-lite's ass in the compatibility stakes as well

Struggling to get @stinkyox.bsky.social's Polybius running on my AYN Thor in GameHub. It's a pretty amazing bit of software and most of the indie Steam games I've tried so far run out of the box. Still lots of parameters to tweak so it's not game over yet. Heres a pic of BallisticNG as eye candy.
