I always respond to people who say this with "I don't believe that because someone is a bad person morally, they deserve to be genocided. Their humanity isn't reliant on if I agree with them or if they're a good person."

a reminder for neurodivergent friends (and myself): nothing is wrong with you. the systems in place weren't designed for you and it's natural to bump up against that. a win for you is gonna be different than for someone else so don't weigh your successes against others. and cut yourself some slack!

Newest chapter of "Loving Him Was Blue", my #NTWEWY flower shop/theater AU is up! 🥺🙏 archiveofourown.org/works/551925...

A picture of the summary of the next chapter. It reads, "It's been a few days since Rindo met that strange boy at the flower shop. He's not wanting to see the guy again. Definitely not.

But he still looks at the front door to open, anyway."

GenAI has polluted image search results, especially for animal pics. It’s now basically impossible to find accurate art references. Enter this: a repository of open-access, AI-free images of wild & exotic taxa. Artists creating *without AI* have blanket permission for derivative/transformative use.

I know basically everyone in LA is looking for work right now so who knows how helpful this will be, but I guess people don’t know you want something if you don’t ask! Please keep me in mind if you hear about any shows staffing up and looking for people! 🖊️🦑

Looking for Work announcement featuring screenshots from a bunch of shows I’ve worked on including Solar Opposites, Barbie, Good Vibes, Monster High, Human Resources, Little Demon, MetLife’s Super Bowl commercial, Lackadaisy, Ugly Americans, Big Mouth, Prison Pit, Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, Ben 10, Star Trek Lower Decks, Cosmos, King of the Hill, Manly Guys Doing Manly Things, WarCrimes, the Boom Greg Universe Special, and Pipeburn

The text reads “Looking for Work!
•16 years of Studio Experience
•Directing, boarding, design, and animation
•Action, comedy, kid’s, primetime

With a little caricature of me saying “I’ve made so many cool things! Your cool thing could be next!”

we had a great 8 years of it being acceptable to be publicly queer but the right tapped into their hysteria and are trying to push us back decades. this is why the left warned of relying on rainbow capitalism because their support was about profit above all else. the solution is for us to not hide

This is not neutrality. This is endorsement. Get the fuck off of Facebook, Instagram and Threads. NOW. www.platformer.news/meta-new-tra...

Today, Platformer is sharing some of those guidelines.

In an answer to the question “Do insults about mental illness and abnormality violate when targeting people on the basis of gender or sexual orientation?” Meta now answers “no.” It gave the following examples of posts that do not violate its policies:

Non-violating: "Boys are weird."
Non-violating: "Trans people aren't real. They're mentally ill."
Non-violating: "Gays are not normal."
Non-violating: "Women are crazy."
Non-violating: "Trans people are freaks."

And in a follow-up questions about whether denying that a protected class violates the hateful content policy, Meta also answers no. It gave these as examples of posts that are now allowed on Facebook and Instagram:

"There's no such thing as trans children."
"God created two genders, 'transgender' people are not a real thing."
"This whole nonbinary thing is made up. Those people don't exist, they're just in need of some therapy."
"A trans woman isn't a woman, it's a pathetic confused man."
"A trans person isn't a he or she, it's an it."

No I agree. Even in just dialogue scenes they write things I just don't agree with. Like this insistence your WoL is like Zenos at the end of Endwalker, or the assumption you'd just let Fourchenault disown his kids and belittle them with no defense at all, stuff like that feels like u need options

the way my friend who doesn't play ffxiv read my longfic and had to google who ephemie was, a character who Is Around and gets mentioned maybe twice ever. they then were like well. i guess i just don't know what's happening here LMAO 🤣

- and I want to explore those. Namely; Collei and Wanderer sort-of friendship, Wanderer's complicated thoughts and relationship to Aether, Sethos and his friendship, etc. I'm a sethoscara shipper now but I wrote it with aether scara so I gotta commit to the original vision!! (and u can ship both :3)

- rewrite Don't Be Afraid (Our Hearts Are Synched). similar to A Mislead Purpose, it's just not aged well - there was a distinct lack of outline & you can tell from the writing. - sequel (?) to Make It Disappear. there were sprinkles of a very elaborate plot in that one shot I never got around to-

some stretch goals; - write another fic in the Of Stardust and Constellations to Find Home series. goal was to always add more but I got caught up in other things, but I miss alisaie and alphinaud dearly!

astrien @astrienluna.bsky.social · 08/01/2025

I want to re-write it so bad but my current plan is to write chapter 5, complete it, then make a "revised" version. I've deleted fics/accounts in the past and it was good for ME at the time, but my current mentality is that i'd rather abandon/indicate it's old instead now, so that's what i'll do.

100

astrien @astrienluna.bsky.social · 08/01/2025

A Misled Purpose was written for TWEWY Bang 2024 but I was SEVERELY traumatized and depressed during that time. I am still both those things but not in the midst of consistent mental breakdowns. after re-reading there's a lot of potential but it REALLY wasn't edited well and I'm not a fan of it.

100

astrien @astrienluna.bsky.social · 08/01/2025

why did i do that? i don't know. but chapter 2 is being a literal BITCH and i cannot figure out how to bridge 1 to 3 but it CANNOT work if I skip straight to 3. I've been cooking on a settphel fic since november 2023 life is suffering hopefully that sees the light of day at SOME point...
