I normally do a quote of the day on my booksta. I might start sharing them here too.

My poor book accounts have been languishing while I've once again lost myself in HR fanfic. I have no self discipline.

If the main love interest in Buffy had been Faith, not Angel, I'd have enjoyed it so much more. Sigh. Dreams of what could have been.

Buddie rec. I'm both intrigued and screaming in absolute terror at this premise. I've never felt more like Eddie Diaz. I'm buckling in. I have a feeling this one is going to get good. archiveofourown.org/works/782595...

I'm going to the cottage. No, literally. I booked a cottage for my birthday before my break up. Do I... a) Cancel now before the window expires b) Go ahead with it and overcome my horror movie-esque fears of being in a romantic cottage in the middle of nowhere alone

The way discourse often revolves around queerness vs women, when statistics indicate 30% of Gen Z women are queer- It's reminiscent of accessing queer spaces over a decade ago and being told these spaces aren't for you. It's like we forget the existence of queer women. We need to do better.

The Rookie, 1x12 Valentine's Day. I'm kicking my feet and squealing at the scene with Jackson. I really teared up at Tim actually asking for support. "It makes you human" is one of my favourite lines. It's something I say all the time and I think it's such an important thing for people to hear.

•× Tallifer ו ~ astarlightchase @astarlightchase.bsky.social · 12/01/2026

The Rookie. 1x07 The scene with the son with support needs, I had to pause and walk away from for a while. It was like watching my worst nightmare on the screen. It was very well acted. I do wish the arc had taken a different direction, but it did well at highlighting the lack of support.

•× Tallifer ו ~ astarlightchase @astarlightchase.bsky.social · 12/01/2026

The Rookie, 1x06. "Hey. You've done nothing wrong. You have a right to be happy, to be in a healthy relationship, to not live in fear of saying something or doing something that could set him off." This discussion was so important. Its line viewers need to hear aloud and often across MSM.

I wish mainstream discourse would learn the difference between sexualisation and fetishization. Fetishization is dehumanising and reductive. It is completely different to sexualisation.

I'm 90% done but I need to hurry up and get finished, because I have a Buddie future fic plot bunny that is tearing my brain to pieces. Look at me actually finishing a project before starting the next one. ADHD what ADHD. This is restraint. It's giving it's January and I use my journal energy.

Best app to keep track of books read this year? Ideally, keeps a tally of number of books read and total word count.

When a show starts seemingly obvious foreshadowing and hinting subtext and I’m enjoying it, but I’m also far too damaged from years of showrunners, studios, & actors pulling the rug out from under me because “romance stupid” and “you’re watching it wrong”

A scene from Spongebob Squarepants where a fish is showing Patrick the starfish a sheet of paper.
Patrick is wearing a strawberry ice cream cone on his head like a hat, and cowers away from whatever is on the paper, looking confused and terrified.
