lol it’s not new math yall. It’s how we add stuff in our head all the time. If one thing costs $19.70 and the other one $49.85 and we gotta do the math quick in our head, we’re not gonna write it out the long way. We’re just gonna call it $20+$50= $70….then subtract the 30 cents & 15 cents after.

A lotta people don’t like it because it made them uncomfortable, but we need that. Talking w friends (or yourself) about stuff like moral limits, forgiveness, hypocrisy, mental health etc. is good for us. Our parents would’ve been too uncomfortable/embarrassed to have these convos 💪🏾

As someone born/raised in Brooklyn who preaches about the gentrification problem there every time I’m there for the past 10+ yrs, this won’t fix it. When you build in Manhattan, the prices are still gonna be Manhattan prices. So the gentrifiers are still gonna cross the bridge to gentrify.

My whole class got on FB mad the class president hadn’t planned anything & the date was approaching. I gave a big pep talk about taking initiative/being positive. If you want it to happen, make it. They agreed, said they can’t wait to catch up. I said “nah I’m not going but have fun.” 💀
