Ash @ashocd.bsky.social · 10/06/2026A little positive is good 👍 it’s not easy in fact it’s a bastard ! 110
Ash @ashocd.bsky.social · 10/06/2026@sam1982379.bsky.social good to see you’re carrying on the great work re #ocdtalkhour ! Will try and pop by a bit more ! Importantly I hope you are doing well 120
Ash @ashocd.bsky.social · 10/06/2026It’s not easy , but with the right help (cbt/erp) and for some medication running alongside I feel that for many , you can go onto lead a life where ocd doesn’t dictate your life and what you can and can’t do . Regain one’s life back from ocd is doable #ocdtalkhour 011
Ash @ashocd.bsky.social · 10/06/2026Yep ! But I didn’t want to spend the rest of my life repeating it . I think Paul Salkovskis mantra of when we are hit by it , is to do nothing , and move on is helpful as is replacing the time we once use to carry out compulsion with something positive and productive 020
Ash @ashocd.bsky.social · 10/06/2026I used brain lock in my recovery , although I didn’t fall into the trap of saying “it’s not me, it’s the ocd” terminology. Added on cbt/erp worked well ! #ocdtalkhour 121
Ash @ashocd.bsky.social · 10/06/2026I think outside of books , Is that sometimes you can ask/ say what advice would you give to someone who is in your same position/place with ocd #ocdtalkhour 021
Ash @ashocd.bsky.social · 10/06/2026Break free from ocd is fab ! Cbt based and gives good guidance on what works well 010
Ash @ashocd.bsky.social · 10/06/2026Engaging with and trying disprove them is a lousy solution, that never works #ocdtalkhour 221

Of that, research on #OCD gets the smallest % despite being a common & treatable condition 151
