Root canal yesterday. Regular doc today (getting labwork for a Rx renewal) But at least I have a brand new phone waiting for me when I get home (my current one is getting VERY sluggish, so it's time).

I had a gum graft done back in May. It honestly wasn't that bad. The worst part was the liquid/mushy-things diet for a couple weeks afterwards.

This week's Friday Night Movie Night movie: I Saw The TV Glow. This one's been on my to-watch list since May 2024 when Pop Culture Happy Hour covered it. Finally got around to it tonight. It was worth the wait. This is the kind of movie that sticks in your brain and leaves you thinking for days.

This is one of the reasons I'm very, very glad my dad will soon be moving into a retirement community. The fact they have almost everything he'll need on site (and can provide transport for things that aren't) we'll make it MUCH easier for me to say "Hey Dad, you need to stop driving now."

It's amazing what a difference it can make to skip out of work early, come home, and take a 2 hour mid-afternoon nap. Sure the tooth is still achy, but the anxiety spike is gone.

My biggest hangup was actually that there was no way the "past" crew could have decoded the message because they didn't have the other half and had no way of getting it. And I think the writers knew this too because they didn't show ANY of the "past" crew prepping for the birthing scene.

This is my take as well. If you create a car that spontaneously accelerates because of how it’s designed, nobody says the car went rogue. You, who designed and sold the car, are on the hook. It’s not everybody else’s problem. Can’t keep it from spontaneously accelerating? Don’t sell it.

Yeah, it was probably already a little on edge because of the rain. And the totally unprovoked attack by a tree definitely distressed it more. This is why people need to keep their distance from wild electricity. It's dangerous.

Also, the number of drivers who WEREN'T turning around was disturbing. The only thing stopping the tree from completely falling into the roadway was that it was BEING HELD UP by the power line. Also, IT WAS STILL SPARKING AND A LITTLE BIT ON FIRE! Yet nearly everyone was driving directly under it!

Oof traffic was beastly today. My typical morning commute is ~25-30 min. Today it took an hour. 😬 (Partly due to a tree falling onto a power line and blocking my primary route, requiring me to double back. But even beyond that, traffic everywhere was waaaay worse than usual)
