My bestie got me tea to pair with a book I have. It is smooth with hints of smoke. I’ve read the book already, but plan to go through it for a compare and contrast. This tea is going to be perfect to drink on while I drown myself with notes! #booksky💙📚 #bookish💬 @ashenalchemy.bsky.social

I know I’ve said this before but it bears repeating: We need your queer books more than ever. They’re the only thing getting us through the day sometimes. You’re literally saving lives.

To that end, my order processing time is at 7-10 business days due to present higher than normal order volume. But in general, this is going to be my standard processing time going forward. I’m going through major life changes and this is a one person operation. Thank you for understanding.

Ash(en Briar Bindery)/Old Growth Alchemy @ashenalchemy.bsky.social · 07/03/2025

Reminder when you order from small businesses to check their order processing times and to not expect them to magically be shorter than what they have listed. Sometimes they might be and that is a bonus, not the norm.

A little leather reback from a workshop at school. In an ideal world I would have completely retooled the spine to replicate the existing tooling that was crumbling away, but the point was to practice spine lifting and reattachment. This is volume 2 of the odyssey.

A leather book with mostly detached boards and crumbling leather spine

Unfortunately due to shipping regulations as a business to the EU and UK I have had to suspend to those areas. I am so sorry! I really wish I could re-open it but the regulations are confusing to navigate at the scale of business I am. I am really hoping I can re-open it when things are clearer!

I cannot speak to the brew glitter but I do not work in a certified gluten free facility nor are the ingredients I use certified. That being said, none of them *contain* gluten in any way that I am aware of.

Lapsang souchong curls around the back of the brew, reminiscent of the smoke of long distant fires which is smoothed and sweetened with the rich amber notes from honeybush. And while the brew swirls in your cup when caught in the light, enjoy the mesmerizing effect of shimmering glittery gold.

Brilliant protest. Yosemite National Park workers hung an upside-down American flag — traditionally a symbol of distress or a national threat — thousands of feet off the ground on the side of El Capitan.

Today I'm very excited to announce the re-release of my sophomore book, Blood & Flowers, with new content and a new cover done by the extremely talented @heavenlyystar.bsky.social Coming Feb 14th to itchio and amazon, I'm so excited for y'all to see the expanded and updated version of this book!

Cover: A white man stands in front of an elaborate Victorian Style mansion. He has brown hair and his eyes are closed. In his hands he holds red flowers and a bloody dagger. The house behind him is blue and red, and the background is a dark blue with fog. A few bats fly around, and there are a few stray flower petals falling down around the edges. There is mist all around the house and man as well. In red and white text it reads "mars adler" them the top and "Blood & Flowers" at the bottom.

The cover is on a dark background with the vague silhouette of a house and tree branches and red smoke.

The post text reads: Illustration and typeset by Yune (@/heavenlyystar)

A trope map of the Blood & Flowers cover with red arrows pointing to it. White text on a dark blue and red background reads going clockwise):
- enemies to enemies who fuck to ?????
- sentient haunted house
- sex pollen & fuck or die
- generational trauma
- warring vampire families
- overuse of the term darling in a vampire way
- blood drinking induced orgasms
- trans witch mc x vampire LI
- 11k words added
- now includes a the 9.5k word holiday short story

A full cover spread of the Blood & Flowers cover with spine text that reads "blood & flowers mars adler' and a back cover that had the same gothic mansion in brighter colors and with pieces breaking off at the bottom. There is no back cover text.

The post's words say "coming Feb. 14th, avaliable in ebook on itchio and ebook & paperback on amazon"

Post is on a dark blue and red background

Back cover blurb, white text on a dark blue background with the blurry silhouette of a house and tree branches

Back cover blurb reads: Two scions of warring vampire families must put aside their bad blood to unravel the disturbing mystery of a cursed house.

Elio Kane is desperate to escape his father’s controlling, brutal hold. His plans never included pretty, vicious Valerian D’Arcy, but fate brings them together when their fathers order them to investigate the crumbling, abandoned D’Arcy family home.

Twelve months of undoing various traps and curses have taken their toll on the already tenuous truce between the Kane and D’Arcy families, but Elio just has to hold it together for one more night, where he and Valerian will enter the D’Arcy home to defeat whatever waits inside.

After a decade of mutual animosity, Elio and Valerian are more than hesitant to set aside their differences. But as they navigate the labyrinthine, malevolent halls of a house much different than the D’Arcy family left twenty years ago, they find they have no choice.

The house plunges them into a dangerous game of cat and mouse, toying with their emotions and sense of reality, and revealing deep, festering wounds that plague both families. Anger and lust fly and the lines between them blur as Elio discovers that the man he hates is far more complex than he lets on.

If they survive, will Elio’s relationship with Valerian ever be the same?

I’m really sick of seeing big creators say “my art is for everyone regardless of politics” my art is NOT for nazis, idk about the rest of y’all. My art is for trans people, for queer people, for folks with a sense of love & whimsy in their hearts. It’s not for people who vote against human rights.
