<div class="field field-field-text"><p>A tanker operated by the UN Office for Project Services (UNOPS) was hit from the direction of the sea on Thursday while on its way to collect fuel for distribution inside Gaza.</p>
<p>The agency said the tanker was empty at the time and no one was injured, but it was directly struck and damaged while travelling to a crossing to load fuel.</p>
<p>“Fuel must be allowed into Gaza consistently, its delivery facilitated safely and without interruption,” said UN Undersecretary-General Jorge Moreira da Silva, who called for a full investigation into the incident.</p>
<p>Da Silva added that fuel is essential for basic services in Gaza, including hospitals, water and sewage systems, and bakeries</p>
