When I was about 5 the opening scene of E.T. freaked me out so badly I refused to talk to my parents for 3 days. I have no idea what about it scared me but I was mad about it. 🤣

On the one hand, I understand why the majority of the English speaking side of social media is focused on US midterms given the nature of that country's impact on global politics. On the other hand, I'm stuck in Alberta & we are dealing with the dumbest political quagmire & barely anyone knows.

I kind of want to try my hand at a Phantom Thief & Persona design for Shiho largely because she gets mischaracterized so much in fan works & that mischaracterization is also paired with a misunderstanding of Ann's arc & design.

Gundam in general is nowhere near hard sci-fi and that is okay. But NewTypes are functionally Jedi that just exist amidst the class conflict at the center of most U.C. stories.

Cosmic Era Gundam is more grounded in reality than Universal Century Gundam and I will not be taking criticism at this time.

My two hottest takes today are: 1) you probably don't need to use ceremonial grade matcha if your goal is a heavily sweetened latte. 2) about 90% of complaints about character designs wouldn't exist if the average gamer had better visual literacy & paid attention to things beyond fandom.

There's definitely a big puppetry influence in JRPG spaces. There's also been some recent shows done in the style of Taiwanese puppet theater so I think the art form is generally more recognizable to a Japanese & some European audiences.

I've started using washi paste for assembling my papercraft. It's nice since it has a long work time. But the long work time means it takes so long to dry, even on tiny pieces.

One other, less serious but no less irritating, downside to Rowling being a bigot & turning Harry Potter into a dog whistle for that bigotry is that I can no longer see a big stripy scarf without doing a double take & wondering if it's a terf wizard scarf.

A super tertiary note, but she's included in the merch! She's technically a secondary character to the idols but she still gets included in the merch lines with the other managers which is refreshing since she's not shoved into the background.

Please do not use an AI generated picture as a reference for a commission. I will definitely decline your request. I am way too tired to see AI everywhere. I can understand it can help to clear a vision, but a very simple sketch is definitely much more favorable than slop.

The next key piece needed to understand Kingdoms Hearts should be an 800 page novel because a) I'm craving a fun fantasy novel and b) I think it would be really funny to watch all the lore YouTubers meltdown over having to read.
