But PT fans were always here. I also think after the ST imploded, there was/is that common talking point of "At least the PT had a plan!" which I dont really see as PT reappraisal as it is a backhanded compliment to the PT to dunk on the ST. ie "the PT is bad but theyre still better than the ST!"

I say "mostly" because PT fans were often bullied and harassed online into silence. There was a chilling effect because the haters were definitely the loudest voices in the room. Theres been an influx of PT fans being more outspoken in recent years and thats being confused for a "revaluation"

As much as PT haters insist everyone hated them, everyone I knew IRL loved them. Roger Ebert even gave Ep1 a glowing review IIRC. On the flip side, PT fans who insist everyone loved them until the RLM reviews are (mostly) wrong. There was always some pretty furious backlash

But also, I kind of reject the premise. I don't actually think the Prequels have actually been revaluated! They were divisive movies then, and folks are divided on them today. People who liked them still like them and people who hated them probably still hate them. Not a whole lot has changed!

The PT was an unapologetic auteur driven project, vs the Disney stuff which was very much a corporate affair desperately pandering to "the fans"

I still haven’t seen it but the reason I never got into Space King is because it presents the status quo as radical. Most commercial art already appeals to men. Most edgy independent art already appeals to men. I don’t see what’s radical about it.

Few things to remember about the Cartoon Network production art leak: 1) I doubt many artists are upset. Most of them are probably happy that people can finally see their work. Can't speak for everyone, obviously, but... likely. There are probably a few artists who can update portfolios now.

Outsourcing with animation is tricky though tbh, because often times, a lot of poorer countries don’t have the money to create a solid animation infrastructure, so often times the only opportunities that they have to take part in the medium they love comes from overseas.

Domestic talent loses opportunities for more specialized work. The company is encouraged to save more on cost to profit from domestic markets while simultaneously not giving anything back.

The best part about this internship is that regardless of what direction it goes, it’s a massive win-win. If I make it to the end, there’s a good chance I might be able to get a better role at the company I work for, and I complete it and I don’t get a role, then I still get valuable experience.

Absolutely! It helps give the series much needed breathing room instead of being confined exclusively to the aesthetic of ATLA. This gives the creators alot more room for experimentation.
