My friends, I have heard it is #Owltober. Which means y'all are due for a #BakedBeansOwl update! Here he is out on a walk. Still looks a bit scruffy from molting but it's starting to come back in.

Beans is sitting on his keeper's glove. His head still looks a bit scruffy and patchy but the feathers are coming back in. As usual he's a but ruffled, glaring at something off camera

Today dinner was truly glorious. Tomatoes and basil from garden. Garlic from the farmer's market. Homemade bread! #food

2 loaves of homemade bread on a baking tray with a bar of good butter. Both loaves are beautifully browned and were slit lengthwise on the top for additional expansion. The loaf on the left has brown spots of garlic chunks in it and a slice cut from the end

A set of bare ceiling rafters (joists?) in a basement. There's a bright lightbulb in clthe center, and on the top right are air ducts.

The room with all furniture covered in tarps and sealed with tape to the wall. The joists now have fiberglass insulation between them. The roll of fiberglass isn't as wide as the joists, so each has an extra strip attached to make it wider, using duct tape.

The ceiling is now covered in lengths of black vinyl which is stapled along the joists. A hole is cut for the light fixture

A large woodworking bench made from spare 2x4s and 1x6s. It's currently upsidedown on the floor of a garage on picnic blankets. Scattered around is a large mess of tools and sawdust.

This MF'er better not still be leaking. I've tried three or four connection methods and they all leaked. At this point, I'm just adding more hose clamps untill the leak stops. #HouseProblems

The xkcd graph about how cool eckipses are. For most of the partial eclipse zone the coolness is near zero. Right at the path of totality the coolness skyrockets.
Two little people on one side of the graph say "we should have a good view here. We're pretty close to the path." "Yeah this map says the sun will be 91% eclipsed!" Where they're sitting is still almost zero coolness on the graph.

Went in a hike today and saw this really cool sight. That's a whole bunch of Aspen trees growing over a burn scar. It's just so cool to see those burned tree tops being shrouded by vigorous growth. #fire #wildfire #colorado
