Since I'm knee-deep in Nazi film history for a current project, I just read a 1934 letter complaining that were only "nine good film directors" left in Germany after folks like Fritz Lang left and Jewish filmmakers were denied future projects. The far right has always had an "artists" problem.

And like any hard thing that is worthwhile, it has its payoff. I remember dismissing Gayatri Spivak as an undergrad partly bc of the idiom.When I went back to "Can the Subaltern Speak?" years later, I was thrilled by the argumentation. What she does with Foucault is impressive!

AI in Ed advocates should just come out and say it: you want to replace human systems with tech bc humans can’t be as easily controlled. They can make demands, organize, strike, etc. It’s about labor discipline and control. Control higher ed workers and control students, the future workforce.
