Committee meeting this afternoon. I've had over 3 months to prepare. Am I prepared? No. I've done a lot of work in the last couple of days and will probably look like I'm on top of my agreed actions and have lots of value to add. Ha ha! Fooled you! Paid work was exactly the same. I can […]

I had homemade (homegrown) courgette quiche for my tea. I've been tutting at supermarket quiches in the chiller cabinet and decided to make my own. The pastry was rather crumbly and a little too salty for my taste; not bad, though. The eggy bit was pleasant enough, although the courgette […]

I filled the slow cooker last night and set it come on at 5:30, so I woke to the gentle aroma of sweet potato and lentil soup. It's an unusual smell to encounter in the early morning but not unpleasant and I'm already looking forward to my lunch. No dithering about what to have. 😋

A beach, 20 minutes before Low Tide.
I'm leaning on a wall to take the photo and you can see the top of the wall in the bottom right. There is sand to the right and water to the left but there's not very much at all. Lots of little sail boats are resting on the sand.
The sky is a mix of white and grey cloud but with patches of bright blue.
