I swapped like 4 months ago and other than a few really annoying bugs, I have loved it so far Having the same set of tabs on multiple windows across my monitors has helped my organization out SO much

Jonathan Joss--voice actor of John Redcorn from King of the Hill, and Ken Hotate from Parks and Rec--was killed in a homophobic hate crime today. I'm so angry.

Statement from Tristan Kern de Gonzales
Husband of Jonathan Joss

My husband Jonathan Joss and I were involved in a shooting while checking the mail at the site of our former home. That home was burned down after over two years of threats from people in the area who repeatedly told us they would set it on fire. We reported these threats to law enforcement multiple times and nothing was done.

Throughout that time we were harassed regularly by individuals who made it clear they did not accept our relationship. Much of the harassment was openly homophobic.

When we returned to the site to check our mail we discovered the skull of one of our dogs and its harness placed in clear view. This caused both of us severe emotional distress. We began yelling and crying in response to the pain of what we saw.

While we were doing this a man approached us. He started yelling violent homophobic slurs at us. He then raised a gun from his lap and fired.

Jonathan and I had no weapons. We were not threatening anyone. We were grieving. We were standing side by side. When the man fired Jonathan pushed me out of the way. He saved my life.

Jonathan is my husband. He gave me more love in our time together than most people ever get. We were newlyweds. We picked Valentines Day. We were in the process of looking for a trailer and planning our future.

He was murdered by someone who could not stand the sight of two men loving each other.

I was with him when he passed. I told him how much he was loved.

To everyone who supported him, his fans, his friends, know that he valued you deeply. He saw you as family.

My focus now is on protecting Jonathan’s legacy and honoring the life we built together.

If your concern is how someone coped with trauma or how loudly they speak when recounting injustice and being ignored by authorities then you never truly cared about my husband.

Jonathan saved my life. I will carry that forward. I will protect what he built.

Tristan Kern de Gonzales

As a bonus lil shoutout, I will take a quick moment to also mention my wonderful girlfriend who has encouraged me to be the tiny little Karrie-obsessed gremlin that I have become. She's the moon to my sun and just like Karolina and Nico, I love her to the moon and back~

Aridia ✨ @aridiaonthemoon.bsky.social · 02/06/2025

Alright, that's enough yapping for now (FOR NOW) A lot of stuff here I actually said on a Reddit thread after the Karolina stream ended, but I wanted to post it here too, simply because I love my daughter so much and this allows me to really yap to my heart's content~

140

Aridia ✨ @aridiaonthemoon.bsky.social · 02/06/2025

As far as Synergies go, 'Canine Teeth in the Side of my Neck' is maybe the best name for Synergy Bonus I could ever come up with. Also I kicked down DLL's door to say that I have Nico's Karolina Synergy name, which lead to the pair of: 'Love Brighter than the Sun' & 'Love to the Moon and Back'

150

Aridia ✨ @aridiaonthemoon.bsky.social · 02/06/2025

Karolina has A LOT of Easter Eggs too I will not post any specific dialogue, but expect some fun interactions to pop up when fighting against Nico, Sauron, Venompool, and Jubilee~

140

Aridia ✨ @aridiaonthemoon.bsky.social · 02/06/2025

This victory animation also explains why there's a bright sun-like object off screen in Nico's victory animation~ It's Karolina~ Fun fact: We originally messed with the idea of a moon representing Nico showing up in Karolina's victory animation but we couldn't make it work. This is mad cute tho

260

Aridia ✨ @aridiaonthemoon.bsky.social · 02/06/2025

Another fun one! Her Victory animation is very much a reference to the Issue #3 cover from the 2017 run. It is so incredibly pretty and I love it insanely. (I have been looking for a physical copy of this issue for SO LONG - soon™)

150

Aridia ✨ @aridiaonthemoon.bsky.social · 02/06/2025

Special 3 - 'Iridescent Sun over Paradise' is a little bit different in that it's a reference to Metal Gear Rising (I'm trans, I get one for free by passing go) The final hit was very heavily inspired by this specific panel that I basically begged our animator to do for the SP3.

160

Aridia ✨ @aridiaonthemoon.bsky.social · 02/06/2025

Special 2 - 'Shoot another Shot, Try to Stop the Feeling' is a reference to Good Luck, Babe! by Chappell Roan (I love women) This actually used to be the SP1 but I knew from the get-go I wanted SP2 to be more important so we swapped them and added more hits. Also hell yeah finger guns 👉👉

160

Aridia ✨ @aridiaonthemoon.bsky.social · 02/06/2025

ALRIGHT NOW ACTUAL KIT REFERENCES N STUFF Special Attack have a ton of references going on~ Special 1 - 'Feel the Sun on your Skin' is absolutely a reference to the song Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield The animation itself doesn't use any existing references, the animator just popped off 😌
