Sorry for not posting much about Fursonacon, was a weird con for us. Not great, not awful, just weird! Happy with the work I got to do, but also had some uncomfortable experiences and have doubts about returning next year. Still glad I could go, nonetheless!

-I think hrt is just still very new to a lot of medical professionals (even though its been around for forever) and a lot of them just kinda treat it like any other medication. When it needs to be monitored a lot more closely!! I had doing bloodwork but it’s necessary in this case

the old doctor told me they don’t check levels unless the patient starts having issues (and I DID have issues and instead of checking they just increased the dose!!) 😭 According to my new doctor it’s supposed to be checked regardless every 3 months!! Apparently this is a pretty common problem-

Good news is I have now had them checked and things look normal (I think) so should be good to go on that front!! Got prescribed new meds too and am hoping and praying things actually start to improve for me bc my life has been borderline unlivable for the past year or so. (not the T’s fault)

So turns out you are actually supposed to check your hormone levels regularly when you start HRT! Guess who’s doctor wasn’t doing that! The face my new doctor made when I told him I’d been on T for a year and a half and never had my levels checked 😭

-lots of hiking, lots of tourist-y stuff that’s worth doing too (when it’s not awfully crowded). Studio tours (Paramount, Warner Bros) are very much worth doing (if they’re still being held). West Hollywood is amazing if you want queer nightlife. Go crazy and have so much fun while you’re out there!

When I was in L.A. for my internship I became obsessed with this salad chain called Calif Chicken Cafe and I crave it so often now 😂 But I’d go see if you can catch a movie premiere, could also try to sign up and be an audience member for a game show! There’s an endless amount of things to do,-
